Second time cooking steak, first time cooking Ribeye. Fire alarm started screaming at me and couldn’t disable until steak was done. Honestly was not a fan of this doneness texture, flavor was amazing though.

    That’s not a smoke alarm – that’s a good crust alarm

I never get my pan hot enough to smoke and I always get a good crust

But did you start a fire? Because I have. Twice. Good looking steak though.

Looks amazing. Sound the alarm. 🍻

Did you heat the pan slowly or just crank it right up to high? I crust my steaks like that but increase the temp slowly and it went from a smoke filled house to a light smoke the fan can contain

It takes less heat than you think it would.

Off-topic question, how do I get my fries to look like that? For me they’re never cooked the right way it feels

Looks Amazing 🤩 I might need to invest in a cast iron 🤔

You ain’t doing it right if the alarms don’t go off!!

    It’s not a fire alarm. It’s a smoke detector.

Nice! If the smoke detectors aren’t going off are we even cooking??

Damn…Looking Tasty. I would have thrown the tail back in the pan and crisped up that fat, but that’s just me. 🥩🍟😋

  14. Do you have a grill outside? I usually put the cast iron in my gas grill and to avoid this exact issue. Also, use avocado oil.

My mom used the smoke alarm as the dinner bell. It worked.

Always have a fan going full blast point at the fire alarm when cooking steaks. It will go off otherwise. If it doesn’t when you don’t skue the results your not doing it right lol
