A Greek like meal in minutes. Chicken Slovakia. Gluten and dairy free.
Hello Kimberly ganir here and welcome to my kitchen tonight we’re going to make chicken slovaki it’s a fabulous Greek inspired meal um with oregano and garlic and mint and parsley and just a hint of lemon well you could put a little more in there if you want to um it comes in a
Sachche I sadly I gave away my last one so I’m just showing you this is a dessert but it comes in a sachche like that it used to come in a jar like that from Epicure so luckily I still had some of this left over and uh it wasn’t too
Old so it was still fresh and I got it in now I’ve already put it in the oven because that way we you don’t have to sit here and watch me for 20 minutes so it is a meal that serves eight and it’s RW ready in 20 minutes because all I had
To do is chop everything up and it’ll cook in my oven for 18 minutes again everybody’s oven is different so you want to um watch you know the temperature so I got it in there 18 minutes so we’ll see how it is but what I’ll do now is I’ll make the taziki
Which is that sauce that you love on top of your um all your Greek meals as I should say and everything so what I’m going to do here oops I forgot my knife there’s always something I forget this is an Epicure knife that we use to sell we
Don’t sell it any I don’t think it’s available I hope they bring it back cuz it’s fabulous sharp ceramic knife it’s great don’t wash it in the dishwasher um we have a mandolin love love love this my mother used a mandolin all the years I
Was growing up and uh she just you know always said watch out for the blade because the blade is incredibly sharp it does have a tool that goes with it so it’ll hold it’s kind of like a finger guard um I don’t know where mine is because you
Know I am my mother’s daughter so let’s get busy here you will be topping your um pea cuz you’re going to wrap it up and put it in a pea uh with let me cut this end off there little squonky Edge uh so what I’m going to do is I’m just
Going to slice these up with the mandolin real quick I need a cup of grated uh cucumber for the taziki see look how easy that is I’ve got half of it done look at that perfect perfect so now I’m going to work on calls for a cup
So I’ve got my little uh prep bowl out set that to the side and what I’m going to do is because I have these nice little thin slices I’m just going to slice like so into teeny tiny pieces put them in there whoops oops watch those fingers cuz everything
Is sharp oops I missed one well you know I like big chunks in my meals okay how many what is your favorite Greek meal that’s what I would like to do I love a I love AO that we have also a Donaire seasoning which is just like um it is I
Shouldn’t say it is exactly like a the AO it’s just what they call it in Canada and I love it so whoops I’m getting cucumber everywhere Jesse is going to have a snack and then we always make the taziki and I always I never make enough is what the problem is so
Today I’m going to make two whole cups for us because we are going to have slovaki all weekend long and if I run out of something now our per bowls which are still available I think they’re on sale for 20% off they they come in a set of four with great little
Silicone Lids their freezer safe dishwasher safe and they have the measurements on it so if you fill this right to the edge it is a cup wow did I cut that right and just chop these into teeny tiny tiny pieces watch those Fingers look at that I will actually add a little bit more of it um what can I tell you when you order our sachets the desserts come in sets of two and um the meals come in sets of three so and they oh I forgot to
Look what is the price uh the sodium is really really low it’s only I think it’s like 65 mgam for serving which again is really low I’m going to continue to cut this um again it’s glutenfree there are it’s vegan so if you don’t want to use
Meat you can use you know substitute what you want and I it doesn’t say it on here but usually on the sachche it gives you an idea for what you can substitute you know soy or chickpeas oh darn Steve’s going to be upset I didn’t make
Hummus oh well that I’ll make later when he’s ready to eat dinner cuz I have a feeling he’s going to mow the lawn so let me slice this and we’ll get to moving on I will cover this the four cup I don’t know if the four cup is still
Available but boy do I love our I love them and I hope that they will come back so we’ve got a full cup of Little Cucumber slices hopefully now and then it comes with a nice silicone lid and I will set the Cucumbers aside good boom I’ve got another four cup book
Bowl I’ll set my mandolin aside which again is I’m pretty sure it’s dishwasher safe I wash it in this dishwasher all the time so I’m going to put I’ve got a cup of cucumber oh my eyes it’s a sunny day here and it’s just catching me in the
Eyes Okay I’m going to use our label Ladle again silicone and it is steel reinforced so you know look how fur I mean it’s not going to bend and get out of shape so I need a cup of yogurt wait it calls for two cups and it’s right to the rim
Oh I bet this is a great chip dip too okay and again I love this spoon look at I’m going to show you how clean it will get this bowl but I spilled it all over the outside look at that a quick TR a quick
One I’m making a mess this is why I’m wearing an apron because I get it everywhere whoops I should check the temperature or the time that we have left okay that is a mess I’m going to throw it in the sink okay I’m going there I’m out of the
Sun Put The Knife aside cuz let’s see I am and then let me just get that clean okay and then stir this up the other thing I need to show you is what seasoning we’re going to be putting in it and that’s the lemon Dilly I love
Lemon Dilly oh I put it on my eggs I use it on everything so and the recipe is right here combine 3 tablespoons of the dip mix with two cups Greek yogurt and one cup grated cucumber and you know I’m lazy so I don’t grate um the blades
On I’m going to stand way over here out of the Sun the blades on the mandolin we have two different depths for slicing and two different depths for Julianne so that’s good now have you seen this this is our 4 in one spoon love it it’s got a tablespoon teaspoon
Half and a quarter and we have oh one thing I show you with our oh smells so good with our um seasonings our M you always want to shake it up because the heavy stuff will settle to the bottom and you just want to make sure oh you
Get it now oh I’m going to sneeze so you don’t you can throw away all those measuring spoons you don’t have to be digging around looking for the right one oh that’s going to make me stee you just grab your four in one and look at this
Goes right in the jar it calls for three tablespoons so let me get three oh and this lemon Dilly I’m I’m sure I said it’s great on fish too and I’m heavy-handed so I don’t always do a level thing okay and then I’ll just mix
This up let me see how much more minutes we only have four more minutes what can I talk to you about for 4 minutes here again our our utensils are food grade silicone okay there we go so they’re not going to be leeching anything into oh doesn’t that look good yeah
We’re going to have to have Greek all weekend wonder if I oh there’s PL oh look at that a Greek salad this would be great on It look at that o o o and again I’m sloppy so let me just wipe this off here see and you can get right in there and make a m [Applause] I wish you were here so you could taste this the dinner in there smells fabulous
Let me get a lid for this I keep it over here in this drawer wrong drawer found a lid just like that and they’re nice and flexible their dishwasher safe and everything um so you’re going to put it in a paita I’m not going to serve it up because we’re
On video but you put it in a PE you can lay down your chicken slaki oh let me just talk you through that I’m going to put this messy thing away what it is is I um cubed up some chicken breast it calls for 2 lbs I think is what it said
O what a mess I’ve made today uh calls for 2 lbs oh gosh and one yellow bell pepper let me set this aside over here so it’s out of the way one bell pepper two cups of cherry tomatoes I only had one pint but I think that’ll be fine and a small
Red onion and I diced it sliced them thinly diced the chicken put it in a big bowl and then I opened up my sachche which I didn’t have I would have let’s say that but I had my seasoning here and just scooped it out stirred it up and
Then I put it on the sheet pan and again 20 minutes or less I mean it’s going to take it took me a little longer to do the chicken because I don’t like touching meat but other than that it’s perfect okay we have two minutes I can I
Wish I could ask you ask some questions for you oh I did want to show you in the catalog so this is our current catalog right now if you go to the back of the catalog and if you’re online you just scroll to the back or you can even type
It in we have a better than takeout meal kit we have a Mediterranean meal kit which is what we’re using tonight and then then we have the taco night we did the taco okay see that right there can you see it it’s the middle one and what
I did what comes in that kit which is fabulous so you can make a nice Greek quite a few different meals it comes with the balsamic dressing so good the lemon Dilly right here it comes with the Donaire which we use for our Euros uh the chicken slovaki and you’ll see as I
Showed that to you it comes in a sachche and then it comes with um d delaye uh pudding and this is I’m not a we’re not coffee drinkers in this house so I’m not making it but it is so delicious it is so I could eat it in
Small amounts um and you just I think let me check here what does it say just add two cups of cold milk and whisk and cover and chill it for 10 minutes and then it’s ready and then it’s says you can top it with a niry whipped cream
Fruit it you can layer it in parfait use it with frozen desserts oh wouldn’t that be yummy okay the timer just went off so let me pull out the chicken and show it to you oh this is the rack and roll or rolling rack I love this thing I have
One on my kitchen sink over there I have one in my laundry room over that sink I have one in the RV and I have one in the shop back there but it’s steel stainless steel reinforced so it’s I can’t even bend it but it will roll right up like
This and it you know very little storage but it extends your counter space it extend so my sink when I’m rinsing my vegetables I just rinse them put them on here but it’s also a great hot pad so let me get the sheet pen out
Here I can’t find my hot pads okay I’m going to turn the timer off oh oh this looks good oh that looks really good now look at that there you go that’s 18 minutes later and I did not add oil because remember you don’t put any um you don’t
Well you don’t use any silicone you know not silicone you don’t use any spray canned spray cooking things so this is all the juice from the chicken and the tomatoes and the peppers but there you go look at that I you know before I eat it I will check uh for dness
You want to do that and again when you’re using your Silicone you want to avoid metal utensils so I’m going to just stick that back in the oven and turn it off wait wait wait they’re off there it’s turned off so that’s how you’re going to make the
Pasas and uh so just take a PE out put your slovaki on there some oh you could put some greens maybe some shredded carrots got the sliced cucumbers and the taziki I’m going to chill it before we eat dinner but that’s chicken spak and I’ll show you what I made for
Dessert already kind of had a piece there um this is our banana bread I put the chocolate chips on Steve’s side and the walnuts I cooked it it C to cook it for eight minutes I cooked it for seven I have a new microwave so I’m just
Learning it I think in next time I’ll try six minutes 6 and 1 half to see it’s a little done but it’s really yummy as you can see I already had but that’s my dessert for the night all right thanks for stopping by enjoy your dinner
