Anyone else find excuses to use charcoal over gas because making a fire feels good?

Yes but I’ve never poured a chimney out like that ever.

I’m not entirely sure what’s going on? Why are you starting a fire so close to plants again?

I see bark and dried leaves just waiting to cause a neighbourhood fire 👁👄👁

Yes, definitely. But why don’t you just light your chimney inside the grill? It works just as well, at least for me, and then you can just pick it up and dump it right there.

I only use wood/charcoal…fuck Hank hill.

Excuses? It’s the only way.

Whenever I don’t have a time constraint, I love using my charcoal grill. There is something satisfying about the glowing charcoal and the smell. I just light my chimney starter on the grill itself though.
As a bonus, scooping out the leftover charcoal makes it very easy to proceed to bonfire and beer mode after I’m done grilling.

I had to watch the video three times to make sure I was actually watching someone light their charcoal on top of bark.
That is the dumbest way too start your charcoal. Just do it in the fucking grill you dipshit.

Ooooh boy this is bad.

I don’t care what hank hill says. Charcoal is the superior cooking fuel.

No need for an excuse. The flavor from a charcoal grill is superior to a gas grill

Are people using briquettes in here?

I really only use charcoal now for big crowds or long cooks. Kind of a waste for just a few burgers or steaks.

Should be labeled NSFW.

First time using a chimney and charcoal grill or what?

As a South African, I hardly know anyone who grills over gas. It’s wood and charcoal brickettes all the way over here.
That said, I’ve never seen anyone light a fire this way. Looks like a huge safety hazard. Most people stack them in the barbecue/grill and light in the enclosed area. They certainly don’t traipse around with burning material across the yard.

Just wait till you discover lump charcoal.

I prefer gas it’s cleaner, you want to taste the meat not the heat.
Not butane though, butanes a bastard gas.

That’s not a fire, that’s just charcoal grilling. A fire is made with wood.

No op. No one finds an excuse for this. Also don’t be so fucking stupid with where you light your fire.

Big dawg bout to set the neighborhood a blaze
The fak we cooking
No. I just know that a charcoal grill gets way fuckin hotter than a gas grill and has controllable hot spots.
For context my free dumpster-find Americana works better than my very expensive at the time Napoleon Prestige II.
I don’t have a gas grill so yeah every time I grill it’s charcoal lol
I’ve never used a gas grill.
Charcoal causes cancer.
It’s way more gratifying and it smells better.
