Please help me figure out the ingredients for this salsa!

It’s a deep red color, pretty spicy, and this restaurant serves it with their tacos, carne asada, etc. It’s top 3 salsas I’ve ever had, and I would love to make it at home. The flavor is amazing.

I can’t remember if there is any oil in it or not. :/

Sorry I don’t have a better pic.

Thank you!

  1. Also, I searched the posts and saw a similar question to a salsa that looked just like this. Someone suggested it was salsa macha, but that looked VERY oily to me, and this salsa isn’t nearly as oily.

Do you recall if the flavor profile had chipotle in it? This deep red makes me think chipotle in adobo. Add some water( since it looks kinda watery), garlic, salt(and/or chicken bouillon), onion, and you should be close. You’ll have to try a batch with Roma tomatoes or tomatillos to see which gets you closer.

  4. Ask them. They might not give you measurements, but may give you the ingredients.

I’m gonna say it is gonna be boiled tomatillos, Chile de Arbol, Guajillo’s, a little onion, garlic, all blended with salt and a pinch of chicken bouillon.
