If you used to love Philly cheesesteak sandwiches like I did I have found what I consider to be the best steak substitute. Beyond Meat Steak Tips. I made a sandwich last night and the taste and texture was the closest I have found.

Juicy Marbles “tenderloin” is the closest I have found to beef.

I cut it into strips and sautéed them at high-ish heat in a nonstick skillet. The pic is a Chipotle-style “Barbacoa”. The texture of the product is similar to braised beef, like pot roast. As far as I know mail-order is the only way to get this. I found the Beyond steak-tips to be a little squishy, like fat.
Seconding this!! I used to LOVE philly cheese steaks and missed them so much. Now, I just pan fry up some of these bad boys, slap a piece of cheese on top to melt, and put it on a good-quality bun.
COuld be controversial, but I also like some diced onion and mushroom with the meat mixture as well.
I could not eat these! Tasted too real for me.
Maybe they’ve changed the ingredients since I’ve last tried it, but I didn’t really like this meat substitute. Now, I’m willing to try again, bc cheese and any meat substitute slapped on bread sounds good to me
Used these the other day to make fajitas and was so surprised how good it tasted!!
