Sauté a medium onion with some butter (or oil) until glazed, and some minced garlic about halfway through your onion sauce. add the beef, and follow the instructions on the box. (Still drain and everything.)
After you add box contents to the skillet, add a good amount of powdered smoked paprika, a good dash of cumin, and onion & garlic powder (omit both if you used actual vegetables). Stir all into the skillet until well blended. Once the meal is done, add about half a cup of whatever cheese/mix you’d like. I prefer using quesadilla/mexican blends; or for a milder taste: mozzarella, which has a bonus of the “stringy cheese pull” in every bite.
**note that all ingredients (except beef and the actual box meal) are 100% opitional and modifiable. Most times I add an actual onion, but avoid minced garlic and just used the powder. You can also use whatever savory spices you like m, which makes it wayyy less boring.

I’d rather do from scratch. I worry about too much processed foods. Any ideas on that?
