Welcome back everyone to Katherine’s plates today I’m going to show you how to make cheesy sausage and pasta Skillet meal it’s all happening in one Skillet you just need a cutting board for a few chops and I’m going to throw everything else together now this recipe can be

Found in my third cookbook Katherine’s plates Simply Delicious it’s the red book let’s get some chopped vegetables sautéing up first thing we’re going to do is chop up a bell pepper now already cleaned it it’s going to go around the four sides we’re just going to make slices as

Big as you want them I’m going to be making small dices from this so I’m going to keep this very thin and then we’ll just turn these around slice through them just like that these will definitely soften down so they’ll have a good texture to them they’ll absorb the

Flavor of our one Skillet meal and again if you don’t like bell pepper you don’t have to put it in all right I’m going to move this over we’re going to start with our onion just take off those outer ends the outer Layer we’re going to cut it in half follow the lines of the onion as we’re making our slices turn them around do a half turn on them run your knife through them and you’ve got your dices all right let’s go ahead and get our pan ready I’m using a large deep

Skillet for this meal because it’s going to have a lot of stuff in it we’re going to put it on a medium high heat I’ve got 1 tablespoon of butter already in the skillet we’re going to add a little drizzle of some cooking oil we’re going to melt our butter get the

Oil nice and hot all right let’s go ahead now and start adding our peppers and our onions when you start sautéing peppers and onions it smells so good it’s like the start of an amazing Aroma we’re going to saute these down for about 3 to 4 minutes until the

Peppers are softening down and the onion get kind of translucent I’m going to go ahead and add a little bit of salt about an eigh of a teaspoon we just want to get these flavors going on in there just move them around now while these are sautéing down

We’re going to take smoked saage this is 14 oz size package whatever smoked flavor sausage you like you can even do smoked turkey with this smoked chicken sausage whatever you want we’re going to open this up be in a link form and then you can

Cut these any way you want I’m going to do these in quarters instead of the slices that I did in my [Applause] cookbook so I’m just going to cut these into pieces then I’m just going to drag my knife through them lengthwise lengthwise again until you

Have four wedges here let me check on my peppers and onions yeah they’re looking good all right let’s cut our sausage into pieces these are like bite-sized [Applause] pieces as we’re cutting this up I’m going to go ahead and start adding it into my Skillet with the peppers and the

Onions we want to get these nice and crispy on the ends nice and brown on the sides oops ah an escape always isn’t there one all right this is the book and that is the recipe on it add in the sausage and brown on both sides and

Then we’re going to start mincing up some garlic just kind of let them sit for just 1 minute and then you’re going to start flipping them over while that’s happening let’s take our garlic we’re going to place our knife on the end of the garlic on the side just bash it

In that will help you release the paper of the garlic all right just run your knife through the garlic till you get a fine mince all right we have it minced up let’s go ahead and check our sausage just start turning it around we’ll cook it one more minute

Until we get a nice Char on the sausage that smells delicious all right our sausage is nice and brown we’re going to add our minced garlic we’re going to stir that in for one minute all right while that is cooking for 1 minute we’re going to open up a can of

Diced tomatoes it’s a 14 oz can and we’re going to add that juices and all all right let’s stir that in we’re going to add in four cups of beef broth we’re going to place this on a high heat we’re going to bring this to a

Boil while this is coming to a boil grab you a spoon give that a taste M that’s delicious add in some extra salt and pepper if you need it we’re going to add one box of elbow pasta uncooked 16 oz [Applause] kids are going to be happy this is going

To make great leftovers [Applause] too woo here we go we’re going to stir the pasta in we’re going to make sure that it is submerged into the liquid we’re going to turn down the heat to a medium low we’re going to place the lid on we’re going to cook this for about 15

Minutes until the pasta is nice and tender and it’s absorbed that liquid now you want to go in about two times and take your spatula give it a stir put the lid back on do it one more time before it’s done now we got a few more

Ingredients to add to it to finish this off y’all come back we’re going to take the lid off now anywhere between 12 to 15 minutes mine took about 13 and 1/2 minutes and that pasta was done we’re going to turn off the burner we’re going to add in half a cup of sour

Cream and then we’re going to add in 4 oz of shredded cheddar cheese now I’ve shredded mine from the Block using my Shredder here I’ll show you that here in just a minute because we got got to put some cheese on top all right we’re going to stir this in very

Carefully let me grab me a towel there we go let’s go ahead and shred another 4 oz of cheese going to get it going oh look at that put my guard on got to keep your guard on around this house they’ll eat you out of house and home I’m just

Kidding they will it’s true there we go all right we’re going to take this cheese and we’re going to sprinkle it all on top there we go of our pasta right on top all right I’ve got some parsley here we’re going to sprinkle some right right on top give it some

Color we’re going to place the lid back on for just a few minutes until that cheese has nice and melted let’s scoop some out oh look at that M oh I’m going for that cheesy bite right there here’s my bite cheesy sausage and pasta one Skillet

Meal wow that pasta absorbed all of the flavor we had many flavors going on in there that cheese just took it over the top all right I got people ready for this one y’all give me a thumbs up make sure you like my video make sure you

  6. Catherine, I've been following you for a very long time and I came up with a recipe I haven't seen yet. So easy. One pkg of cream cheese, one pkg., (small) coconut cream instant pudding, a little milk and mix together. Pour into graham cracker crust and top with 1/2 tub of cool whip. Put in fridge then enjoy. It is delicious! Hope you try it. Linda Riggi from Visalia, California.
