I been making my stew meat this way for last 4 weeks. Usually make about 2 pounds and I eat it for lunch at work for the week. Must been extra hungry last week, I ran out by Thursday. So I’m making 5 pounds for this week.
I usually add some broth and I added mid way. Should it be going higher to cover the meat ? Thanks. Sorry it’s dumb question. You can tell I don’t cook much.

Sorry. Auto correct. Should said still noob
How has it been coming out for you the way you’ve been doing it? If you’re happy with it, I’d say keep doing it the same way. If not, I’d recommend some seasoning, salt, pepper, beef bouillon, and some spice like cayenne or chili powder or taco seasoning.
If you have the time and equipment , brown the meat in some oil in a skillet before putting it in the slow cooker. Then after you put the meat in the slow cooker, add some water to the skillet and heat it up, scrape all the good stuff off the bottom of the skillet and dump that goodness filled water into the slow cooker with your meat. Add the seasoning and some liquid (doesn’t matter when so put it in now and save yourself a later step). I like to use V-8 juice or dump in a can of Rotel.
Don’t throw away the broth when you are done cooking the meat. Use it instead of water to make rice, or pour it over noodles. You could make gravy but I’m assuming that’s more than you want to do at this point. Just don’t waste that goodness. You can even just have it as a hot drink.
Good luck. You got this.
So I left it cooking since start of the post, the broth level went up near top of the beef. I think if I had added more broth at the start, it may over fill as it cook.
