Just about exactly 400 calories and SO good and filling. If you’re not making congee you’re missing out. 1/4 cup of rice becomes 3 cups of super rich and delicious congee and you can top it with pretty much anything

    I lived off congee during an extreme poverty part of my life. Congee is cheap, tastes good and allows virtually no food waste. I ate it nonstop for 2 months and never got sick of it(don’t neglect your vitamin C though).

    Got old condiment packets? Congee. Got old dried up sad veggies? Congee. Got any kind of protein? Congee.

    And it’s the best when you’re sick, this is my chicken noodle soup kind of dish.

  2. I tried congee for breakfast for a while and ended up hungry after just an hour or so. Do you ever have that problem? How do you solve it?
