I share a grocery haul of my attempt restock as I learn to shop on a budget at Bashas’, Sam’s Club, and Fry’s (my local Kroger store). I do my best to eat Gluten Free, Lactose Free, and (MY Phase 3 personalized) low FODMAP, while I’m on my fitness journey. 🥳 My husband, not so much. 😹

Today is not my normal shopping day and when I woke up this morning I wasn’t really expecting to go to the grocery store but then I looked at the local flyer at my local Bas store I see this 10 lb bag of rusted potatoes for $2 a

Piece you can get a limit of two and in my area that price is insane I would be silly not to Rite to the store and go get it and of course I had to run in there and get some like immediately now I know what you’re

Thinking big didn’t you run to the store and get like 10 lbs of potatoes last week did you eat them already how many potatoes do you eat the answer is yeah I did buy 10 lbs of potatoes last week and no we haven’t eaten them all I don’t eat

Quite that many potatoes even though I really really like potatoes and honestly if I had room for two of these 10 lb bags I totally would have bought them but I think I have enough potatoes for now but I do have some plans for these potatoes this week going to try some new

Recipes out but we’ll come back when I do my normal shopping trip and here is the regularly scheduled grocery haul this week we didn’t have to get very much thankfully because we did stop on so much stuff this last week which was good because honestly there weren’t a

Lot of things on deal that I could have like if you can have butter great deals on butter if you can have cheese there was a whole bunch of cheese on sale I did get a little bit of that but I couldn’t really like fill up my freezer with shredded cheese uh asparagus

Asparagus was a great deal apples were on sale pears were on sale all of these things that I can’t really have but but I did manage to at least come up with a menu and grab a few things to fulfill what we needed for this month well I’m

Sorry to finish out this month um so yeah let’s go over the things that I got just a quick Interruption when we’ll get back into the grocery haul I just want to let you guys know that this is for one person who is lactose free glutenfree and eats on a low FODMAP diet

And the other person doesn’t at all so back to it okay here is everything that I got guys first off here is that $2 bag of potatoes I just showed you guys have actually already eaten a couple out of it uh at Sam’s Club I got this 5B bag of

Carrots cuz carrots are a really good low fod matat vegetable and it was really other than like this Frozen SP spinach I already have I couldn’t find many vegetables in season on sale right now like asparagus like I said but I can’t have that um eggs I still have a

Whole bunch of those egg whites that I got last week but I needed whole eggs um since we were out and then finally the last thing I got at Sam’s was this these kiwis they’re a really good LOD map fruit um and this like I said there were

Not a lot of inseason fruits that I could have right now that were on sale so it was unfortunate but at fries I did I did get a sale on these these were on um special with a coupon this week and if you can have pineapples these were 9

Cents a piece great great deal um I can have pineapple and I even know that you can get a low FODMAP serving that’s it’s like a cup or something like that on low fod to be totally low fod map so it’s not an awful serving and then some decaf

Coffee for when I make my lattes in the afternoon this was surprisingly there were a lot of coffees on sale not a lot of Decap on sale so that is I think one of the few things I didn’t get on sale this week uh bananas bananas were they

Weren’t a bad deal for the organic ones versus the regular ones and I I don’t know the organic ones for me seem to last stay like Greener longer so that’s why I get those then like I said the cheese deal I got a little bit this is

Extra sharp cheddar now I said that I am lactose free and why do I have this block of cheddar cheese well I was taught that the way to tell if uh a cheese has lactose in it is to look at the total sugars and you can see this

One right here has zero sugars So in theory this one is lactose free but whenever I eat cheese I still um take lactate with it so this is this will probably last us a long time oh and also if you have a problem with gluten or lactose always get blocked cheese um you

Never know what they’re using in those anti- caking things and so it’s just best to shred your own cheese just for your own Peace of Mind get Block cheese and then uh a single jalapeno since I can’t have too much jalapeno but I do

Like to add it a little bit to my meals to spice things up uh this was actually on sale yay and then let’s talk about this right here we were extremely lucky on this one a family friend has a pecan tree that has dropped a huge amount of

Pecans this year and so they gave us almost 10 lbs of unshelled native pecans so I got these for free so I’m pretty excited because pecans are like one of my favorites I love them so I mean I’ll have to put a little energy into them get them cleaned up sort through them

Make sure there’s no bad ones and I’ll have to you know you like bust them open myself but yeah for free I’m not complaining so what is the plan for the menu this week with the things I bought well this is it last week I made Barbacoa pork roast it was delicious so

I still have everything for this I might as well make it again uh I have ground beef from last week I have steak so usually only have red meat once a week so I’m either going to have uh ground beef noodle bowls with pickled carrots or steak and potato

We’ll see how I feel uh Mediterranean marinated chicken with potatoes and Brussels sprouts I still have a little bit of Brussels sprouts left we need to use them up spicy lemon pasta with chicken I still have so much chicken might as well use it up and I do have

Some gluten-free pasta that I need to uh that is open that I need to get through as well I’m not going to make that entire pork roast into Barbacoa this this time I’m going to take half of it and I’m going to make pork kabs using that fresh pineapple I still have some

Zucchini and boom I’m going to probably put a homemade teriyaki sauce on that and put it on the grill it’ll be delicious breakfast it’s going to be oatmeal yogurt smoothies omelette with spinach those are the ideas that I have and the items that I have to uh like I

Have eggs I have oatmeal I need uh have yogurt I can make smoothies I have frozen fruit lunches tuna salad egg salad with those eggs or leftovers if I have any from the dinners before what I need to make this week I need to make yogurt I’m almost out I still haven’t I

Bought that milk last week I haven’t made it yet feta same thing bought the milk last week haven’t done it finally I’m going to try to make my own hash brown patties Mike loves those hash brown patties so I think it would be beneficial to learn how to make them myself

And well well I think I might have a couple extra potatoes to give it a try so that is it for this grocery haul for this week and the plans for it and this is the final grocery haul of October now I know the big question that is in your

Guys’ mind is how much did you spend this week uh this week I spent $376 plus free pecans can’t complain there and because I only started this budgeting challenge halfway through the month it isn’t like a full monthly budget um but I at least got two weeks

Worth to kind of set a baseline for what I think my I might be able to budget monthly in the future um we were spending anywhere from about 400 to 50 to $550 a month for two people um so that’s why I really wanted to reel it

Back in cuz that seemed like a lot to me I’d like to get it closer to like 3 to 350 a month to be honest and for the month or for the two weeks that I started this budget my total was $1 18987 including a big meat stock up but

You know I don’t want to say that that’s the big reason why because I usually do a big meat stock up once a month but this is definitely like pulled like pulled in the rains a lot on the extreme spending on food that I was doing trying

To get things back under control and I think it’s a good good start and I’m looking forward to seeing how much better I can do in the weeks and months to come to get my budget under control so I hope that you guys enjoyed the grocery hauls for this weekend the

Week’s past and a little bit of uh insight into how I do my meal planning uh if you guys liked it don’t forget to subscribe share the video leave a comment I want to know is it pecans peans or peans let me know because I say it literally

All three ways just depends on what mood I’m in though at that moment but uh I’ll see you guys next time on my next budgeting grocery challenge um I’m just going to continue going for the foreseeable future to see if I can get closer and closer to my budgeting goals bye guys
