Ingredients
4 hoagie rolls
1 onion, cut in half and thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 and 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 teaspoon salt, to taste
freshly cracked black pepper to taste
garlic powder
ground coriander
cheese: American, cheddar, muenster, or mozzarella
the toppings:
lettuce
pickled jalapeños
tomatoes
onions
avocado
ketchup
For the sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
sriracha sauce
Instructions
Mae the Sauce: Combine some mayo with sriracha (to taste) in a bowl and whisk together.
Heat a cast-iron sillet over medium heat and add the onions and pepper with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Cook until softened and transfer to a plate/bowl.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and flatten it out. season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and coriander. Cook over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes. Flip it over and season with salt. Break the beef up and cook for 2 minutes. Top with lots of cheese and cook until it melts.
Toast the buns and slice them in half, lengthwise. Add sauce and some ketchup. Top with lettuce, the onion and bell pepper mixture, and some jalpenos. Top with the chopped cheese meat and serve.
Notes
Feel free to use hamburger or hot dog buns instead of the hoagie rolls.

Hi everyone yasa to another episode of Deitra dishes everyone loves the great burger but these chopped cheese sandwiches are a million times better you’re going to have to make these and you will definitely believe me once you do let’s get started okay so we’re going to begin by making the Sriracha mayo
This is a sauce so in a bowl over here I’m just going to add some really good quality mayo and sriracha sauce you could add as much Sriracha as you like mix it all up and set it aside then it’s time to slice up the lettuce so I’m
Using Roma lettuce you can use iceberg lettuce slice it up really thin and then you’re going to wash it in a bowl then I like to use a salad spinner for this whole thing you want to get the salad really dry so get the lettuce out of the
Water and put it in the little basket and spin it a couple of times until it’s nice and dry and have it ready to go now we’re going to prepare the onion and pepper mixture I have an onion here I’m just going to slice it in half and then
Into not too thin not too thick slices I want them to have a little bit of texture I’m going to do the same thing with the pepper I have a red bell pepper but you you can use any color that you like it doesn’t matter just slice it up
So it can be the same size and thickness of the onions these are going to go into a cast Iran skillet that’s heating over medium heat with a little bit of olive oil and a pinch of salt and they’re going to cook until they begin to soften
Once they’re ready transfer them to a bowl now it’s time to get the meat cooking so I have about 4 oz of ground beef I like to use beef that has a little bit of fat in it at least 15% is good so that way it’s nice and juicy put
It in the really hot pan you want the heat to be on medium high right now castar and Skillets do tend to get really hot so if it does start to heat up too much and starts to over Brown the meat you can reduce the temperature to a
Medium but don’t go too low otherwise it’ll kind of steam the meat flatten it out a bit and season it with some salt freshly ground black pepper some garlic powder and a little bit of ground coriander you’re going to cook the beef until it starts to Brown on one side and
That takes about 3 or 4 minutes depending on you know the strength of your stove top flip the beef over and then season it with a little bit of salt and start to chop it up let it cook for about 30 seconds and then flip it over
One more time it’ll still be slightly pink try not to overcook it and at this point you’re going to top it with your favorite cheese today I’m using shredded cheddar but I’ve used moner cheese before and American cheese use your favorite cheese on top that melts
Beautifully and chop the meat up and let the cheese melt you can reduce the heat a little bit right now and it’s going to take about 2 minutes for the cheese to melt once it’s nice and melty you can put your sandwich all together so I’m using these longer buns today I have
Made these sandwiches on hamburger buns but they’re easier to handle in the long buns and I just toasted them and now I’m going to spread some Sriracha mayo on both sides you could hit it with a little bit of ketchup top it with that shredded lettuce those delicious sauteed

These look of course you can add your favorite toppings to the these and substitute something that you don’t like that I might have put in for something that you love for example your favorite cheeses if you don’t like the pickled jalapenos and you like pickles instead

Dimitra, I have watched your videos and mostly enjoy the recipes but I get so upset to watch you cut the lettuce, spring onions etc and then wash them. I have always washed my vegetables and then chop as then I preserve as many nutrients as possible. I have never seen anyone wash chopped spring onions 😂 Maria 🇬🇧🇨🇾
