Cabbage roll hello everyone welcome to Sanjeev Kapoor sky sauna my name is Sarah and today I am making cabbage roll now this is a unique kind of roll where I would stuff something into cabbage and then batter fry it so let’s see how I do this for

Cabbage roll we would require 8 cabbage leaves 4 medium sized potatoes boiled and mashed 1/2 cup of green peas which are boiled and mashed salt to taste 1 TSP of chaat masala 1/2 cup of gram flour or Basin 1/2 TSP of red chilli powder 1/2 TSP of soda bicarbonate oil

To deep fry so let’s start with our cabbage roll there are a couple of things involved in it like the stuffing and the mixture so let’s start with it now over here what I have done is I have taken these cabbage leaves after the whole leaves removed from the bunch and

I have blanched these leaves in salted boiling water now by blanching what happens is they have become a little soft and they are nice and palpable like this so these are our blanched cabbage leaves now we will keep this aside and prepare a mixture we will take mashed

Potatoes in a bowl along with the mashed potatoes we’ll take green peas now these green peas are boiled and mashed salt and chaat masala will mix all these things terally so this stuffing is ready we have added potatoes green peas and chaat masala in this now what we have to do is

Take these blanched cabbage leaves like this put this potato and green peas mixture right in the center of the leaves fold one end towards inside the other end also towards inside and roll it down tightly so this is a roll ready similarly we will make some more rolls

So after preparing our rolls which are stuffed with potato and green paste mixture we will make a batter batter made with gram flour salt red chilli powder soda bicarbonate and water now when you make the batter make sure there are no lumps and so you will have to whisk it so here it

Is I have made a batter of a coating consistency as you can see so oil is nice and hot now we will deep fry these cabbage rolls until they are nice and golden so our cabbage rolls are nice and golden completely crisp from the outside and

Nice and soft from the inside with a stuffing of potatoes let’s remove them nice and crispy cabbage rolls so this is a cabbage roll nice and crisp from the outside and you can have them as it is as we have stuffed it with potatoes with

Chaat masala or else if you want you can serve it with green chutney

  1. W what is gram flour or bean? Where can I buy it at? And is it wheat and gluten free flour? I made some today but I use coconut flour and my batter was not that smooth as yours.
