I use my deep fryer. Set it on the fryer fire it up for 30 seconds. Don’t have to deal with paper ash.

Cubes or tumbleweeds – paper has failed me a couple of times.

The only thing I’ve ever used my gas side burner for, lighting a chimney of charcoal

I keep some of the brown Amazon wrapping paper they abundantly provide, only need a fist size ball

Eather or wadded up paper with a dollop of oil works fine for me

A pinecone wrapped in newspaper and dipped in wax.

    I use whatever is available:

-I like the cheapest tumbleweeds from amazon I can find

-whatever paper/cardboard is in the recycling bin or the charcoal bag

-when I was living in Oklahoma in the fall I’d use handfuls of bone dry fallen leaves, that was my favorite version (I don’t have any old growth deciduous trees over my smoker setup anymore though)

I use paper, either charcoal bag or when I see them I’ll grab a couple bonny buyers.

Cotton balls soaked with 90% isopropyl. Works great.

  16. Cotton balls doused with rubbing alcohol. Burns nice and clean and it is stuff we have around the house anyway.

I used to use paper but where I live is generally dry and very windy and the idea of burning embers of paper blowing away bothered me. So I’ve been using B&B tumbleweeds and will never go back to paper

Cubes but one does the job. I found some on clearance 2 years ago for 2 or 3 bucks a box and bought all 15 on the shelf. Newspaper is too Smokey and ashy for me.
