Hey guys and welcome back to morgue’s menu so today we’re doing another copy cat recipe and that’s going to be a copycat recipe for the taco bell chicken quesadilla you could really use this with any kind of protein that you want whether it’s steak or black

Beans or whatever you like to put in it but i’ve tried this a couple different times using a couple different recipes and really found one that kind of combines everything together and really gets you that genuine taco bell quesadilla taste so if you’re interested to see how that recipe turns

Out keep on watching [Applause] All right so as always we’ll go over the ingredients that we’ll need and then i’ll bring you in step by step on how we’re going to make the quesadilla so to start i’ve gone ahead and diced up some chicken i just used kind of thin sliced chicken breasts you just want to bite

Kind of dice them up into bite-sized pieces again you could use whatever protein you wanted on this also since it’s a quesadilla we’re going to need some wraps i have these mission heart balance ones just because this is what we typically have on hand but you just want to make sure whatever

Tortilla that you get it’s the big large burrito size so it can kind of fold over and be that normal size you could really use any size that you wanted but if you want it to be kind of the size just like a quesadilla from taco bell

You’d want to get the big one also without cheese you obviously can’t have a quesadilla so i actually found this taco bell mexican melty shredded cheese from target so you may be able to find that it’s just shredded mozzarella white cheddar sharp cheddar and mild cheddar cheeses so

You could use whatever mexican blend that’s what i typically use but i found this one in target and figured for the video we might as well try it and then the main part that really makes this kind of a taco bell quesadilla versus any other cheese and chicken quesadilla that you could make

Would be the sauce so i kind of use a sauce from a base from a recipe i found on pinterest so i’ll link that original one down below but i’ve tweaked it just slightly kind of based on what i personally think reminds me the most of the taco bell chicken quesadilla

So i’ll list all the ingredients kind of how i do in the description box down below if you want to make this yourself so to start with the base you’re just going to need whatever mayo you like to use and then you also need some pickled jalapenos i

Have these from trader joe’s but you can use literally any type of kind of canned or jarred jalapenos and then you also need a little bit of sugar and then lastly you need lots of different spices so you could honestly kind of just use like a maybe like taco packet seasoning or

Fajita packet seasoning and make it taste pretty similar but i’ll show you the exact ingredients that i use so as a kind of classic we’re going to use chili powder paprika and cumin garlic powder and onion powder because they make everything better and lastly just some salt and pepper the

First thing we’re actually going to do is go ahead and start the sauce that way you can throw that in the fridge and kind of let it sit the longer it says in the fridge and kind of all the flavors come together the better so like i mentioned we’re going to start

With a half a cup of mayo as our base this is going to be made for two quesadillas so just kind of double or half this recipe depending on how many you’re making i also have already diced these but it’s about three teaspoons of the jalapenos along with four teaspoons separately of

The juice you also need one teaspoon of sugar and then you just need a teaspoon each of the rest of your spices so chili powder cumin paprika onion powder garlic powder salt and pepper i kind of just like to eyeball these but they’re about a teaspoon each

Once you mix that together just throw that in the fridge and then we’re going to go ahead and prep the chicken so like i said i went ahead and prepped everything basically for the chicken beforehand and just dice it into bite-sized pieces and then i’m just gonna season this now

The taco bell chicken i would say probably isn’t seasoned super strongly tastes kind of bland when you have it so i do add some seasonings but depending on how authentic you want you may want to cut down on some of these but i just like to do a little garlic powder chili powder

And salt and pepper once you’ve seasoned your chicken you just want to kind of saute it on a pan at medium heat until it’s done it’ll depend on what size you cut them in as to how long it will take them to actually cook but it should only take a

Few minutes to put as long as you cut them up into bite-sized pieces Then once your chicken’s fully cooked we’re just going to go ahead and make the quesadilla so as always we’ll kind of leave the pan at similar heat around medium we’ll start by throwing down our large tortilla we’ll put down a thin layer of our cheese topped with about half of our chicken

And top of another thin layer of cheese and then on the opposite side of the quesadilla we’re going to lay down half of our once sauce sauce is spread out you can just fold that over and then you’re just going to cook it on each side for a few minutes

Until it’s fully cooked again it’s depend on your pan and your quesadilla and how crispy you want it on how long but i’d say about four to five minutes on each side should be plenty of time now the hardest part about this is obviously flipping it but just kind of make sure

It’s cooked as much as you want on one side that way you only have to worry about flipping it once and just carefully go ahead and flip that over and then finish cooking on the other side Once that’s done that’s it all you have to do is just kind of slice it how you’d like it i’m going to cut it with my little pizza cutter here and then it’s ready to go all right and here’s the final product it gets nice and crispy on the outside

You could probably cook this in the airfryer too if you got one of those for christmas like i know a lot of people did but you can kind of do it either way as long as it’s cooked and crispy on the edges that’s all you really need but

This is a really good one really super easy recipe if you wanted to kind of start trying out different taco recipes or just different restaurant recipes in general this is a really good one to kind of just test out because it’s super simple really delicious you can make as many or

As little as you want depending on how much you want we’re going to pair it with some refried beans and some rice just because that’s what we typically do but you could pair it with whatever you want dip it in whatever sauce you’d like you have some leftover packets from the

Millions that they got gave you in your bag the last time you went to taco bell you can pair that on the side as well but as i mentioned i’ll leave all the steps and ingredients that i used in the description box down below as well as

Link the original recipes i kind of started with for inspiration but if you have any questions feel free to leave those in comments down below if you’re new to my channel make sure you follow me on instagram and tick tock for content throughout the week and subscribe so you don’t miss out on
