Hey everybody, appreciate you joining us here at T-ROY Cooks. We’re doing an appetizer for you today, it’s going to be some bacon-wrapped shrimp, unlike any that you’ve ever seen. Let me show you what goes in it. Alright, first off we got some fine shrimp here from Lobel’s of New York and also some
Of their fruitwood uncured bacon, fruitwood smoked. You’re going to need some water chestnuts. Last you’re going to need some pickled jalapenos. You’re going to need some Tiger sauce and also have some Lobel’s of New York marinade and toothpicks.
Alright when you get those shrimp or any other seafood from Lobel’s they are going to be frozen so you need to thaw them out, preferably in the fridge or put them in some water, cold water, and thaw them out that way.
I’ve got my shrimp thawing out, let me show you what we are doing with the bacon. Alright with the bacon here you can put the bacon in the oven, uh preferably in the oven at about 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
You don’t want to cook it all the way through, you want to cook it so that you can still wrap it around the shrimp. So we’re going to go 8-10 minutes at about 400 degrees and I’ll meet you back when I pull them out.
My bacon is still in the oven and I thought I would put these shrimp in and get them marinating a little bit. So I am going in with this New York marinade, be sure to shake it up. Those are some nice looking shrimp. There we go.
And I’ll use some of this Tiger sauce, shake it up. If you don’t have Tiger sauce, what’s that rooster stuff, Karen? Rooster stuff? Yeah that red, siracha, oh okay. Throw some siracha in there. You can also put a little salt and pepper in here or some like Cajun seasonings in here.
Give this a good stir. Mix this up. And I just want to let you know if you leave these shrimp in the Tiger sauce for more than about 12 minutes, its going to start cooking so we’re timing this so that these are marinated
At about the same time that the bacon comes out of the oven. We’ll meet you back when we’re doing that. And when you take your bacon out you need to put it on some paper towels or a paper bag or something to let it drain that grease off of it.
And let me show you what we’ve done here. We’ve actually cut the pieces in half. See how limp that is? That’s what you want. Some of these pieces may have gone a little long but that’s a little thin piece, alright.
Now what we’re going to do is get you one of these huge shrimp, put you some bacon around it. Let me get over here so you can see what is going on. Get you one of these water chestnuts, get you a jalapeno and wrap it up.
Stick a toothpick through it like that, try to stand it up, alright. I’ll do one more for you. Here we go, water chestnut, jalapeno, and you can double up the jalapenos and water chestnuts, however you want to do it, just make it your own. And get you another toothpick.
My oven is still on. And if you noticed I did drain most of the marinade out of the shrimp over here so that it wouldn’t keep cooking the shrimp. Alright we’re going to finish doing these shrimp and then we’ll meet you right back. Alright folks this is what we’ve got, gorgeous shrimp.
We’re fixing throw these in the oven, 400 degrees and I’ll let you know whenever I pull them out how long it was, I am thinking 6 to 10 minutes, somewhere in that range. So we’ll catch you back here on the flip side.
The shrimp were in the oven for about 10 minutes, right at 10 minutes exactly. And I pulled them out, lets check them out. As you can see they are gorgeous. They smell wonderful too. I’m going to take the toothpick out of it. Let’s see what this tastes like folks. These are good Karen.
Yay! You got to try these I am telling you. This is a fantastic appetizer or main dish if you put some rice or something with it. That’s good, you got to check it out. If you like the video give me a thumbs up.
Hope y’all share it, and when you do, tell all your friends that T-ROY Cook responsibly. See y’all next time.

Great looking appetizer Troy, good to see you back on the YouTube grind. I love that Tiger Sauce. Did the water chestnuts have any flavor from the cook, the are usually bland to me unless I season them. Nice video!
Really nice looking dish 🙂 Thanks for sharing buddy! Always excited to see a new T-Roy Cooks show 🙂
come on maaaan……you had me at that BACON! Can't go wrong with ANYTHING wrapped with bacon. Great recipe for the summertime. thanks for sharing. Have you made this recipe on the grill T-Roy?
I have never used tiger sauce and as far as I know, I have never ate it either. You mentioned that it cooks the shrimp. Is it a hot sauce or what causes it to do that? Hope you are feeling better!
Rooster stuff! Good definition, I got it!
Those were some grand sized shrimps Troy.
Nice app, pass me a plate please.
Looks great, It'll be hard to come across shrimp that size in Scotland though :/ I'll try tho 😀

As usual T Roy this shrimp appetizer is top-of-the-line. I think has that it has the right amount of spice, jalapenos, water chestnuts, and bacon, absolutely bacon. As you said, this is a must try for your bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer. Looks fantastic brother.
