Annie’s mac and cheese boxes are almost the exact same cals, and are significantly cheaper (like less than half the price per box)

Kraft mac and cheese is the same and it’s like a fourth of the price..

This seems to be about the same calorie wise as kraft, just a smaller box? Kraft is 250 per 70g serving, and this one is 260 per 75g serving. I assume the point of this product is for the higher protein and added vitamins, rather than to save calories?

Anybody know of a milk free alternative?

This doesn’t seem like it’s better than eating normal Mac & cheese. Are the ingredients atleast better?

Ooo yes. I do this often, eat the whole box, when it’s dinner time and I have a bulk of my calories left for the day. It’s total comfort food to be able to sit with an entire box of Mac and cheese .. lol some days it just be like that

These are amazing!! And the whole box has somewhere around 40g of protein, which is incredible. Highly recommend.

I really like the Banza brand – good amount of protein + fiber compared to regular boxed mac n cheese, so it fills me up faster.

People are totally right about calories per serving being roughly equated with Kraft/Annies.
One thing I do want to advocate that people consider when looking at nutrition labels in a deficit is the calories per gram of protein, and the satiety of the food.
If you don’t get enough protein you lose both muscle and fat, so getting sufficient protein is really important. A good benchmark is 1g per lb of your goal weight. If you want to be 120lbs and eat 1200 calories, you might want to target 10 calories per gram of protein. 1g per lb and 10 calories per gram is a great bench mark for an aggressive diet no matter your goal weight.
Now that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat food that has more calories per gram than that, but you would need to “make up for it” with foods with a better ratio, like lean meats and protein powder which typically clock in at 5 calories per gram of protein. Each calorie you get from chicken breast will “earn back” a calorie that was over that 10 calories per gram.
In this case, Goodles is 260 calories per serving at 14g protein, so 140 calories is “covered” by the protein content and 120 needs to be “earned back” by eating 120 calories of chicken – about 4oz. Making that meal 380 calories.
A serving of Kraft is also 260 calories but with 9g of protein, leaving 170 calories to cover with 5.5 oz of chicken, bumping the meal to 430 calories.
The Goodle’s also has 6x the fiber and 2x the fat of Kraft, so will make you feel a bit fuller and more satisfied, but the numbers there are marginal.
For the price and the flavor, I’d totally go with kraft and just eat a little bit more chicken with it. I just thought this was a good opportunity to share how I think about food selection besides just the number of calories per serving.

Debate about Kraft or this is going on and personally I feel better eating this one because the vegan one was fire. I would try the dairy ones next time if they’re on sale. But a huge thing to note here is not just calories or protein, but additives and artificial colors or flavors too. I have an app called Yuka, you can scan the barcodes and it gives you the nutritional profile. This helps me make decisions
