I saw some comments on a thread for people looking for a good patio and this place came ton mind. Food is good (I don't think amazing, but solid and consistent), nice outside area with a lot of seating, and a big playground for kids.
I grew up going here in the 90s back when they were where Via is now, so I certainly have a soft spot for them.
*Chicken fajitas – pretty good. Chicken kind of dry but flavorful. I got the supreme to add veggies and shared with my kid. Way more than enough food.
*Carne asada – my husband got this. Again, huge portion. I thought it was tasty but my husband thought it was bland. But in fairness I put mine in my fajita and doused it with salsa.
*Speaking of salsa! I love their salsa. It's just basic texmex salsa, but it's really tasty.
*Queso – I also like their queso. It's pretty simple, but it has good flavor. I always wonder what they put in it, because it just looks like yellow cheese with jalapenos, but it's pretty flavorful. Definitely more old school Austin queso vibes.
*Tortillas – my favorite thing about the "new" location. They make the flour tortillas in house, and they seem to just get better and better. They're thin and stretchy but strong, super good.
*Mexican martini – I'm not much of a drinker these days, but this was yummy!
*Camarones al la parilla (not pictured) – I didn't order this this time, but I ordered it a lot. It's grilled shrimp with peppers and onions. SO good. Definitely my favorite thing on their menu.
Playground and grackle for ambiance.
