Does anyone have any reviews on this charcoal? I bought it from my local Hispanic grocery store because it was on special this week. I got it for $4 a 7 pound bag.
How does this compare to regular charcoal briquettes?

mesquite is a strong flavored wood, and charcoal. It makes great tasting food, i recommend using it for high heat cooking on normal grills. The wood and charcoal leaves a lot of ash, and has a high creosote content so cooking low and slow with a bunch of unlit charcoal can be an issue depending on the style of the grill flavor wise.
the bag you have is most likely lump charcoal, so will burn differently than briquettes. cook chicken or steaks with it, or burgers, anything where you want a higher heat, and pre-burn the charcoal in a chimney or grill is fine.
