Roasted my last frozen corned beef slab. After it was nice and tender, threw the cut potatoes, carrots, and onions in the pan drippings, a bit of seasoning, and let that roast awhile.
Took other pan drippings and made a stock and cut cabbage in my crock pot, and threw the still whole roast in there to further season the cabbage.
As you know, no matter how much you pre rinse and soak a marinaded corned beef, it still is more than efficient too salt all your veggies!
Scooped the remaining roasted taters and carrots with those practically dissolved sweet onions, into the crock pot with the whole roast and cabbage. Let it go in low just a bit longer, then took the roast out and shredded before adding it back.
I admit, the bowl I show here, I took some stew out before shredding my roast and mixing it back in. I prefer to just eat mine plain and save the meat for everyone else. Mom mentality lolβΊοΈ
It is so perfect, I wish there was smellavision! I have some Italian, French, and Brioche baguette choices, and sweet cream butter.
Itβs just so good! Itβs cold here again out of nowhere! Weird weather. Anyway, this kind of cheap stew just hits so good!
Spice blend was simple. Onion and garlic powder. Smoked paprika, a bit of Cayenne pepper. Dried parsley, celery seed, rosemary, and thyme, grounded first. Black pepper and of course you must have several Bay leaves in there.
Would you like to come for a bowl or two of brown?ππ
