Welcome back everyone today I am going to show you how to make this delicious smothered chicken cordon blue stuffing recipe it is a really good throw together in your crock poot meal that just Cooks low and slow all day or half a day if you’re in a hurry we are going

To start off by making that delicious stuffing mixture now I am using a 6q crock poot as my slow cooker today now you will find this recipe in my second cookbook Katherine’s plates making home cooking easy and if you’re following along it’s on page

58 but don’t worry I will go over all of the ingredients the measurements and get you through this whole recipe very easy all right let’s get started we’re going to make the delicious stuffing mixture first this is going to go on the the bottom of the crock pot so you can

Certainly put these ingredients in the bottom of your crock pot and then whisk that together I’m going to be using a large mixing bowl to do this that way y’all can see everything happen we’re going to start of course with one box of stove top stuffing mix

I’m using the cornbread cuz I just like the flavor of that now this box is 6 oz so we’re going to empty that in that’s what it looks like M smells like the holidays all right let’s add that so already got the seasonings in there good flavor in there we’re going

To add one can of cream of celery love these crock pots so the weather’s getting warmer and you just want to throw something into your crock pot this is a great recipe for that we’re going to add that to our large bowl we go now you can add another can of cream of

Celery if you want or you can add a cream of chicken which I’m going to do here now both the cans the cream of celery and the cream of chicken these are 10.5 Oz size cans each now if you want to add a can of

Cream of mushroom in lie of one of these you can certainly do that there it comes all right what I’m going to do put both cans over here I’ve got half a cup of milk I’m going to just pour it into one can just going to use a

Spoon slot that around and get all that excess soup out we’ll pour it into another can so we can get that out and then we’re going to add it to our mixing bowl bring that back over we’re going to take a stick of butter

Which is half a cup I’m going to take it out of the wrapper place it into a measuring cup that’s safe for the microwave melt this and then we’ll add it there we go we’re going to add some cracked black pepper I’m not going to add any salt because

The cans of soup have plenty of salt and also I use salted butter we’re going to go in with a/4 teaspoon of garlic powder now I’m going to place some onion powder in and paprika now these were all a/4 of a teaspoon get your whisk blend this together smells good in

There all right we’re going to bring our crock pot over since I’m using a stuffing mix in my crock pot I am going to be spraying the inside of the slow cooker with some non-stick cooking spray that way our stuffing doesn’t stick in there let’s go ahead and put this into

The bottom of our crock pot oh it smells good in there I’m telling you you don’t need a holiday to make stuffing we’re going to smooth it out let’s talk about our chicken I’m using three pretty large chicken breasts what I like to do is tenderize my

Chicken before it goes into the crock pot give it a lot of holes that way the flavors can go inside of the chicken it can make it really tender faster so you can use a fork and you can poke lots of holes in to your chicken I found a

Tool that you can use also if you don’t want to use a fork but if you don’t have this tool you can use fork for sure it’s one of these meat tenderizers right here yeah look at that flattens it out all right washing my hands and then I’ll use the same fork

And what we’re going to do is place the chicken into our crock pot on top of that stuffing mixture there we go let’s season our chicken Salt black pepper garlic powder onion powder smoked paprika you can use regular paprika too that’s all the paprika I have that’s sad all right

Let’s go to the next step we’re going to lay deli ham all across our chicken cuz that’s what chicken cordon blue is stuffed with now this is the Black Forest ham and I just had it thinly sliced at the deli we’re going to place this on top of the chicken the ham

Smells so good hope I don’t steal a piece I am right now M mhm good you know if I’m doing a crock pot or slow cooker it’s early in the morning all right we’re going to finish this up just cover up your chicken there we go boom the next ingredient swiss

Cheese this is Baby Swiss cheese and it’s very thin also we’re going to lay this across the ham right you can put as much cheese as you want in there look at that yeah looks good doesn’t it me double up on the cheese cover it

Up place your lid on we’re going to cook this on high for about 4 to 5 hours you want to make sure your chicken is cooked through and nice and tender so make sure you check that you can also cook this on low between 6 to 8 hours if you want to

Do that I’ll be back okay this took me 3 and 1/2 hours on high and it’s completely done of already checked the chicken it is nice and tender and cooked through I’m going to let this sit for just a few minutes I’m going to cut through the chicken and the ham there’s our

Layers all right I’m going to take a bite for you all in one the ham the cheese the stuffing mixture the chicken and all those seasonings here’s my bite h that is a delicious bite right there all right don’t forget this came out of my second cookbook Catherine

  2. That was excellent did it ni the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker under Slow Cooking came out perfect Thank YOU SO MUCH

  3. Would you happen to have an easy Broccoli and cheese casserole dish you could share please?

  4. Stove top used to be better when the seasoning packet was seperate. I add celery & onions also sage and alittle poultry seasoning.

  5. Hello everyone, I love chicken cordon Bleu all of my favorites into one (only difference for my daughter she doesn't eat pork anymore for health reasons I'll substitute deli turkey for her )😋 thanks for another great recipe 😊

  6. Hello Catherine! Greetings from Michigan! This crock pot chicken Cordon Blue looks amazing. My first experience with this dish was in Germany. I Love it. Never tried it in a crock pot but I think I will try it in my instant pot on the slow cooker setting. Cant wait to try it. I dont own a crock pot but the slow cooker method in the instant pot I believe will be fine. Have a blessed weekend.

  7. I think I will make this for Easter thank you so much. My Mom had Alzeheimer, the last Easter she was here, I asked her what she wanted for Easter Dinner, she wanted Turkey and Dressing. I fixed it and it was absolutely delicious. She said I was hungry for this. Happy Easter to you and your Family.

  8. @CatherinesPlates, Is it possible to substitute out the stuffing? I am not a fan of stuffing. Maybe use rice or potatoes?? Looks yummy. 😊

  9. I’ve made this recipe without using the ham and cheese. Omg, that looks delicious! I will definitely try this now when I make mine!

  10. Eating this right now. My husband is raving about how good it is. He said Catherine did it again. Thanks for the recipe.

  11. Catherine, should I take the lid off or leave on when the dish is resting for 5 minutes. Thanks!

  12. It smells delicious 😋 it would be nice have it at Thanksgiving or Christmas 🎄 have a blessed Saturday everyone 😋 😀

  13. I haven’t been watching very much lately and that is absolutely unusual. My wife has been diagnosed with several problems that were unexpected. I have cooked for the last few years to take some of the pressure of her but now she doesn’t have much of an appetite. I have made more meals from your channel than anyone else’s. I thank you for the ideas and most of all just you being you

  14. Omg, this was delicious!!! I decided not to double the recipe and am glad because this made plenty. Even had enough to send for my husband's lunch tomorrow. I brined my chicken for and hour also. I got one of those meat tenderizers and love it. My family likes the chicken more shredded instead of in complete pieces so it was fall apart tender. We all loved it. My son said I put him in a food coma, he had to take a nap,😂. Thank you very much for sharing all of your wonderful recipes.

  15. My God, I ❤ everything you make. I swear, Cordon Bleu is one of my most favorite meals . The ingredients you used are absolutely delicious, with the cornbread being the top for me. I'm looking forward to trying your recipe. Blessed Holy Week to you and your loved ones.
