Aside from the cheese and bacon, everything is bland. I appreciate the portion size, but am otherwise unimpressed. This is my second attempt and I don’t anticipate coming back.

As a Pasadena dweller for quite some years I will say that they definitely declined in quality during the pandemic. I normally go to the location on Walnut and it’s been disappointing as of late. Can’t speak for the OG location, that one has always been a little better than the Walnut one.
Jagwire4458
The carne asada supreme burrito at the walnut location is the way to go
painlesspain
The trick for me is to get it with the eggs over easy and to add a jalapeño
rye_parian
It’s good not great. There’s better breakfast burritos without even leaving Pasadena. I live here and it’s not even top 5 for me.
Ok_Needleworker2438
Nostalgia.
It’s mid tier at best. And a huge portion, which some people gravitate to.
yutaka731
I think part of its attraction is that it fills you up for the whole day or at least is good for two meals.
PrestigiousTowel2
It’s terrible.
CensoryDeprivation
Those eggs are overcooked to the point of sponge and leather.
prettymuthafucka
It’s so bad and they get so mad when you ask them to season the eggs or add salsa in the burrito
Fickle_Ad_109
There’s no excuse for those eggs

Pro tip:
Everest up on N. Lake Ave has a *much* better breakfast burrito. Lucky Boy’s are just bigger and open later, but quality-wise, you wanna go with Everest.

I personally prefer Wake and Late (the DTLA location, haven’t been to the spot in Pasadena)
raquibalboa
I love Delia’s breakfast burritos
kappakai
Dry af and the eggs taste burnt.
Farados55
I had the burger and onion rings which were great. HUGE portion of onion rings
nirad
Wake and Late is better, but I will get downvoted.

Nostalgia and hangover recovery. I had my first one from original location about 25 years ago. It was under $5, massive, and had a huge portion of greasy bacon. I had it recovering from a hangover. It worked well, and I went back the few times over the years. That said, I went to the walnut location about 5 months ago, and it was reeeealy bland. Eggs were dry, bacon was scant, and content distribution was not great. Somehow all the cheese ended up in a ball on one side of the burrito. Haven’t been back, don’t plan on going back anytime soon.

I’m shocked by these replies cause reddit usually loves this crap. I swear I’ve tried Lucky Boy like 100 times and never loved it. Also got it for a film shoot once after telling everyone how acclaimed it was. Like all 40 burritos were mid as hell and I looked like a moron.
Jonnnycarson
Trash. Have had it three times over the course of about 13 years and I just don’t get it. Too big, too hot, too dry, salsa sucks. After three times over so many years I’m pretty sure it’s not just me.

It’s not good

I order this often at OG LB because it’s convenient for me and hits the spot. The “best” (chorizo) breakfast burrito imo is at Wonder Burger.
run-drink-eat
best bang for the buck – i dare anybody to get this quality/size a breakfast burrito for $10 or under in LA – it doesn’t exist. are there better breakfast burritos out there? sure, but they also cost $15-20. i equate it to in-N-out – i would never consider the double double to be in my top 10 taste-wise of anything, but for the price, it’s top 3 for sure.
Ludo_Fraaaaaannddd
Wake & Late is miles better imo
bunerzissou
Connals is way better, especially the green salsa
jojothetaker
I was similarly disappointed when I tried them in November. Live just a few blocks from Everest, will have to try that.
dutchfootball38
Agree with you OP. It has ZERO flavor. I threw mine in the trash.

Me and my fiancé went to lucky boys at night to see what the hype was about and left after realizing that’s when the rats and mice come and occupy the building lol

Never heard of this but judging by all the comments that’s a good thing… Check it out though-
Barans2239 is top notch. Michelin Star, Only aval through the w/end, msg them on IG way ahead for request as they sell out and will not make more for that day.
Clutch in Venice BB is legit too.
You’re welcome. Cheers!

Everything at Lucky Boy is criminally under seasoned. Has potential, but needs salt.
Kohlj1
Rooster is way better!
chuckerton
The worst thing about Lucky Boy is their tomato water salsa. I hate that shit.
Tall-Ad-8571
It was better value at $8 before the pandemic. Now it’s about $12 and I only get it because of nostalgia. The huge portion and served all day was great to a high school and college self. Now at 44 it’s just fine, but agree not great.
ianilanotv
I like it for the portion size. But there are a lot better breakfast burrito spots now.
Californiagrown420
George’s burger stand in Boyle heights is my go to breakfast burrito
PizzaMyHole
It’s not? Because it’s bad and the ingredients are bad?
Pulsewavemodulator
It’s no tacos villa corona.
Glamour-puss
That shit sucks. Is it the biggest breakfast burrito? Yes. Is it the best? No.
That’s like me frying up a cheap cut of steak to extra well done but it’s the size of a giant dinner plate and people will say it’s the best steak ever.
mastermoose12
Incredibly bland. It’s beloved because it’s big and cheap.
