Hi everyone I’m Catherine thank you so much for coming to my channel Catherine’s plates where I like to cook with you do grocery hauls what’s for dinner and dessert and today I am going to be doing a cook with me so I’m going to be doing a mash-up between sloppy

Joes and Philly cheesesteak y’all if you haven’t tried this yet here’s the recipe you’re going to love it okay my family loves this one so I’m doing it again for them so I can do it for you all right y’all if you’re new to my channel make sure you hit that subscribe

Button down below that Bell notifications so you’ll always know when which shows are posted okay we are going to get started I’m going to show you everything we’re going to need and then we’re going to put it together Here it all is right here you’re going to need some ground beef provolone cheese some salt some pepper some beef broth got some ketchup here whoosh a shire sauce here we’re going to dice up some pepper and onion I’ve got some butter buns gotta have the buns right

And then I’ve got some corn starch err as a thickener all right I’m going to go ahead now and what I’m gonna do is dice up my vegetables get them into a pan and start softening these up before we start adding everything else alright so when

You go ahead now and chop up my peppers I’m just gonna take four large chunks here and probably cut them once more and then I’m just gonna put them on my chopper this tool has been such a lifesaver I love it say that and then it all goes in

There it’s got a deep deep container there to hold all your veggies as you’re chopping them up I got all those in there now I’m gonna go ahead and put my cut my onion I’m just gonna cut it into quarters that’s all you’ll need to get

It in there to chop those up now if you’re gonna need a smaller dice than what this thing does then you’ll have to you know dice them yourself that’s about what they get right there I’ll show you here in a minute all right there we go I’m gonna take the lid off

So you can see there we go all right so I’ve got my two tablespoons of butter melted in my pan here it’s a pretty large skillet I’m gonna go ahead now and add my peppers and onions I’m going to add some salt gonna flavor the veggies and a Sun want pepper alright y’all

You can add mushrooms to this if you would like okay cuz I know an affiliate cheesesteak people like mushrooms in it too but I don’t eat mushrooms so we’re gonna leave them out okay so we’re going to be back here in just a few minutes with these soften up just a little bit

Then we’re gonna start browning up the meat all right so I’m going to put about 1 pound of ground beef into my peppers and onions here and guess what I’m bringing out my meat chopper all right I’m gonna break up my ground beef now if you see any tools

That you like that I’m use and you check down in my description box down below and my Amazon links and they might be there so you can check and see if you like things I usually link down what I like to use in the kitchen all right so

I’m gonna break this ground beef up and then what I’m gonna do if I get it all brown so once I get it all broken up I’m not browning it up this half second down The beat kind of crusty we’re looking for crusty bits on this it’ll mimic your Philly cheesesteak all right you’ll see that all right we mix the peppers and onions and whip it to a little bit here all right I’m gonna start flipping over the meat oh yeah look at that that’s exactly what

We’re looking for all right flatten it out one more time give it a few minutes to get crusty on the other side and then we’re going to break it up and then add all the good stuff to it now at this time what I’m doing is I’ve got french fries that I

Will be putting in the oven to eat with our Philly cheesesteak sloppy joes so at this point I would start making whatever it is that you want to make to eat with them all right I’m gonna start now breaking it up oh there’s nice brown

Bits in here and that is just what we were looking for I’ve got a measuring cup here and a can of beef broth and I’m going to pour into it we’ll be adding some corn starts as a thickener so one tablespoon or so rub it over it over

There there we go and now I’m just gonna take a whisk and just kind of whisk it together right so I’ve got it all all the meats all nice is broken up and cooked now so I’m going to go ahead and add my beef broth corn starch slurry Oh yeah peanut smells good All right we’re going to add some Worcestershire couple teaspoons and we’re gonna put some ketchup in there a couple of tablespoons or so all right we’ll go ahead now and mix this all up and then I’m gonna cook this down until it’s really thick because we want

To put this on you know hamburger buns and we don’t want it too runny smells good I’ve made sloppy joes and I’ve made Philly cheesesteak several different ways I’ll link them down below my description box if you want to check out the separate videos for those but

Mashing it together well my family loves that all right you know what I’m gonna do right you’re gonna get you a spoon like we taste everything make sure hmm holy moly that’s good almost thick all right you know turned off my meat mixture I’m gonna let it rest for a little bit and

It’s gonna help thicken it up even more and then I’m gonna be doing something special to that now I’ve got another pan over here and all that we’re gonna do is toast up some hamburger buns why not right so I’m just gonna cut these in

Half now I like to use this kind of butter right here it doesn’t matter the brand or anything but it just squeezes out and it’s so easy to just spread and I reserve that for things like this here all right I’m gonna continually do these

And then I’m going to put them on the pan so they can get nice and toasty I’m gonna finish off the meat mixture with some provolone cheese on top of it that’s what goes on a Philly cheesesteak all right and then we’re gonna pull it all together How’s that for a mashup Philly cheesesteak sloppy joes I’m ready to go in for you mmm boy it’s definitely sloppy but it’s so delicious that cheese holds it together when you put it in there like that mmm oh my gosh I could taste all the flavors that Philly cheesesteak and that sloppy

Joe flavor all in there y’all all right thank you so much for coming to my channel today to watch my show make sure you comment down below give me a thumbs up if you’re new to my channel make sure you hit that subscribe button down below with that Bell notification and you’ll

Always know when my shows are posted like this one here alright y’all I will see you on the next episode

  1. As a traditionalist, I was hoping for the Whiz rather than provolone, because THAT is what goes on a Philly. Other than that… looks delicious!
