I have a love/hate relationship with Hello Fresh.
Being a business owner myself – I fully support a company profiting. However, sometimes it feels like gouging. When we pay $38/39 per meal and I can recreate it for roughly $7… I feel like the margins are pretty skewed.
So long story short – this was a 40 minute meal. 25 of those minutes came solely from roasting the shown red peppers. After an 11 hour work day – we said screw it.
THANKFULLY, I legit had two almost identical bags of lemon spinach ravioli that I purchased from Aldi or Trader Joe’s last week ($2.50/bag!) so because the meal didn’t include protein for that price – we doubled it. What’s shown on my plate is about 1.3 servings.
The meal had great flavor and I can easily duplicate this. Truth be told, I think we liked the other ravioli better. The flavor was more pungent. Next time I make this, instead of roasting red peppers, I plan to get a bag of spinach to cook down to add into the Alfredo mix.
9/10
I deduct a point for the price. For $39- throw in a $3/1lb of chicken sausage
But I added the point back in because it was super easy to make after a long day.

The main value of Hello Fresh is the convenience. We all know we can recreate meals for less but getting it all at my doorstep without me thinking of what to make/eat or having to go to the store is what I’m paying for.
