These were very, very good tasting sardines. Hands down the best tasting spiced sardines I’ve had so far. Better than Santo Amaro in Piri Piri peppers. The first box was rather beat up and can had some big dents. No seals looked broken so I proceeded to open the can. Well…they’re not going to win any beauty contests. But the fish looked good enough. They were a little softer than the Matiz and Santo Amaro sardines. One thing I enjoyed was the texture flakes more like a freshly cooked fish fillet – like a salmon fillet. Other pilchards I’ve eaten felt firmer. The fish itself had a great flavor. The spices in the oil seemed well balanced. You can taste some heat from the pepper, warmth from the clove (never saw the actual clove), the herbiness from the bay leaf and that’s all I picked up. The carrot and pickle slice didn’t seem to be noticeable but I’m thinking it’s adding some depth to the flavor.

IMHO, the oil and spice mixture is well balanced- like a well designed product. If there is such a thing as a “winter” or “Christmas” sardine- this would be it.

I have to try the Minerva can next. We’ll see if it can exceed the Flower can. Looks like it’s designed to have a similar flavor profile but no clove or bay leaf.

Favorite can of sardines I’ve eaten so far.

YES!!! Flower Moroccan Spiced are not lookers, but they are absolutely delicious and they deliver promised flavors, including a gentle warming heat.

That’s why they are my #1 sardine of all, and why I keep spreading the word about them.

OP, I’m so glad you enjoyed them as well. Thanks for the review

Thanks for your review. I’ve been eyeing them to buy but they are not available in my area.
