Made in Sidney, on Vancouver Island. I was stoked to find something so local! Was about $12 for the jar and I’ve been using it for several days now.
*Very* funky flavor from the mushrooms and garlic but I love that. Deep umami, a nice but not overwhelming kick.
The texture isn’t like other chili oils I have, it’s akin to yellow mustard–a kinda thin paste. Good for mixing into sauces or noodles.
This will definitely be a repeat buy when I eventually run out.

Sounds good.

Can someone explain what Umami is? I heard some people say the food they’re tasting has Umami, but online it says MSG is umami but I feel that’s wrong context

Sounds good, shame it’s not produced on the island I live on.
