AITA for not doing what this bag is commanding me to do?
Straight to the trash every time. Am I the asshole?

Many places won’t recycle number 4… They slap that thing on there to make you feel better about the plastic if you care. But many of those symbols aren’t really recycled in most programs
I had one from hungry root that said you can toss it into the garden, but I definitely didn’t cause it almost looked like plastic or something. 😵💫

I throw it in the dumpster every time.

I looked it up and recycling it is dicey at best

I enjoy letting them plummet into my trash can and compact the trash in the bag with their weight

Well, you guys have made me feel better about tossing these into the trash!

I’ve been throwing them in my freezer. I’m only on my 5th week though lol.
As far as I can tell these are just frozen water. How long will one of these bags take to evaporate in the freezer?

I dump the liquid and recycle the bag

Always in the trash. Especially today when it came busted open and that weird gel goo was all over my meat and bagel packages.

Yeah, I toss them too. We get The Farmers Dog food for my dog and they come with dry ice and some kind of foam-type insulation that dissolves in water. It’s so satisfying to put it in the sink and watch it dissolve 😂 I suppose dry ice would be *too* cold for Hello Fresh though and might somehow ruin the food? Idk but it would be cool if they could use something like that instead

I really wish they had a better way to keep the packages cold. These things are such a pain to recycle (you have to drain them first) and even then I doubt that recycling plants can really handle them. The gooey stuff inside can’t be good for the recycling equipment.

I dump the contents and take the bag with my other TFP recycling to the collection bin about once a month. If I don’t find a leak in them, I’ll save it in the deep freezer and use it as needed. I just took a three day road trip and they lasted most of the way.

I use them as ice packs! I had a horse head in a cooler that needed to be transported and used them to keep it at a cool temp.
(I’m not a serial killer just a taxidermist I promise)

I use them as ice packs. Worked well for an overnight road trip.

I live in area that barely recycles and I feel the same way lol. I wish they’d find a different method for this

Even LA doesn’t recycle 4
