I see a lot of people worshipping these amazing grills. And given the price I totally get it. These are the grills for people who love grilling.

But a Ferrari has a paint job that’s powdercoated on, and it’s so hard to scratch you can drag a screwdriver over it, and it just scratches the screwdriver. It’s as hard as ceramic.

Big green egg is the same way. And I treat mine like crap. It sits outside all winter. I don’t cover it. I don’t maintain it. I just use it. And it keeps enduring my abuse, just like a Ferrari would. Mine isnt pretty anymore but it works better than anything.

Use them hard, put them away wet. You’re paying for quality and the ability to not care. Care about the poorly made grills. So here’s mine. Not pretty. But used at least once a week every year during the non snow months here in Michigan.

How can I recommend anything else? All my previous grills didn’t take to my lack of care so well. And they are all in the landfill.
