22 courses for 175 per person. It’s not cheap but omakase in Austin is hella pricey imo. endo is 180 pp…. The rice was cooked perfectly and I think this is the only spot outside of tsuke that does their rice really well for their omakase. I haven’t reviewed otoko or tare yet though full disclosure. Most of the fish is sourced from an importer from Japan but 1-2 pieces like the ocean trout was not. A lot of the pieces are cured and I think the curing really makes Craft unique compared to the other omakase spots in town. Gives the fish a unique texture too. It wasn’t hard to get resys and my friend booked out the whole room. This may be a good option if you can’t reserve tsuke or toshokan and I like it more than toshokan. My favorite bites were black snapper with fish sauce and the agua chile shrimp. The Uni was delicious as well.

Good to hear another great review. Headed there on Thursday night.
“most of the fish is sourced from an importer from Japan” probably chef michael che at tsuke edomae? he’s an importer, having built connections when working in tokyo and having gotten the licensing, and I know that Tare buys fish through Mike.
How long did it take start to finish?
I appreciate that they’re keeping the garnish game a bit more minimal than some of the other omakases in town. Some of the others over-do it by dumping tons of stuff on top of the fish. Tsuke is still the best though imo.
How would it compare to Endo, in your view?
I made a reservation for two and got charged $453 with service fee and taxes. So 227 per person.
Crazy expensive 🙁
Been there. Amazing.
I’m a simple man, I see austinfoodadventures on ig or Reddit and I like the post and add said restaurant to my lists. But for real thanks for all the food recs !
We loved them as well, and I think they are reasonably priced for what you get and compared to the other Omakase places. We are giving Tare a try next week.
Yea I had a great meal there as well and I’ll be going back soon. Definitely think it’s safely at the #2 slot in the Austin omakase scene.
It will now be impossible to get a res there after this goes on IG if it hasn’t already. Thanks…i guess?
I went here and it was fabulous but I wish they would ban the use of phones during dinner.
It’s such an intimate and open setting and so goddamn annoying to have 1/2 the people taking pictures of their food. It disrupts the flow and gets in the way of the aesthetic. It’s like being at a concert and seeing all these screens of people recording the show.
Annoying.
