My husband did NOT believe me that our kids, who generally don’t love fish, would eat this. Proved him wrong 🙂

I was a little worried about the bones but decided to let them try and figure it out on their own, with supervision of course, and they did really well! 5 year old was straight savage and expertly stripped that fish down to its bones. 4 year old did a pretty good job but needed a lot more help.

Biggest mistake was thinking they’d be satisfied with 1 each. I made 2 for each adult, and guess who lost both her fishies to the kids? 😭

Anyways, I was very proud of myself as it was my first time making. It’s one of my favorite foods but I only got to eat it as a child when visiting family. This kind of fish was not readily available where I grew up.

On the plate: gulbi-gui, seasoned tofu, doenjang jjigae, rice

OMG I’m so excited for your kids!! It’s a travesty how few adults in America don’t know how to eat fish on the bone. It’s an essential skill! Part of growing up is figuring out what to do with the bones, your 5 year old sounds like they’re going to grow up to be a beast!! Can we be friends?
