Hi guys! I noticed that mostly ppl make sweet French toast with white bread. It's so unusual for me. In my childhood my parents always made them savory. I liked them with ketchup 😋
🍳I add salt and any spice to egg/milk mix. Also, I adore it with dill 😋 or spring onion. 2 eggs, about 30 ml of milk (I bet, any milk will do).
My today's outcome is 124 calories per a slice. It's approximate bc the slices were of a different size. I had 2.5 slices + a bit of oatmeal, fera, strawberry and a cookie. My breakfast is 542 kcal in total. I prefer big breakfasts.
❗To decrease calories, you can use any low cal bread you are happy to buy at your place. I don't have this option so far.
Well, this is how you can save stale bread (exactly happened to me this morning), and have something new for your breakfast. I put really stale bread into egg/milk mixture, let it soak, flip once, and put on the pan. I can also pour the mixture on the slices. The bread turns out to be soft and tender🤌
btw, no oil, I rubbed a few drops into the pan before cooking when.
I wonder if you also make savory French toasts. What are your secrets?
