Been wanting to try a new pizza place, so I figured I’d give Toss a try. Here, you can mix and match large pizza halves to create a custom 20” pie. We got one half Hot Honey Farmhouse, and the other half Texas BBQ Brisket. Both halves had good holds and were cooked just right.
Hot Honey Farmhouse half pizza ($14): Though I really enjoyed both pizzas, this one was probably my favorite. The sweetness of the hot honey was a welcome addition, and complimented the salty pepperoni. The peps were cooked wonderfully into small grease-catching cups. I also thought the texture and flavor the goat cheese paired well with the pie. Overall, the ingredients were well balanced and flavorful – would definitely order again. 8.5/10.
Ingredients: Crushed Tomato Sauce base, Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Red Onions, Goat Cheese, house made Hot Honey.
Texas BBQ Brisket Half Pizza ($17): This one was my partners favorite, and if you like Terry Blacks BBQ, you’ll be a fan of this pizza. A bit on the heavier side, this pie brings some strong flavors with the smoked brisket and sweet/tangy bbq sauce. Though I’m not usually a fan of pickles, they provided a nice crunch, and the vinegar-y taste helped offset the sauce’s sweetness. It was a satisfying, flavorful, and filling pie. 8/10.
Ingredients: Terry Black's smoked brisket, Terry Black's original sauce, pickles, onions, mozzarella.
Atmosphere: It was packed when we got there, but we were still able to seat ourselves and the service was decent. There’s a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, with plenty of screens if you’re looking to watch a sporting event. There is a nice dog-friendly patio space, and they also sell custom dog treats. Really fun and welcoming vibe.
Overall, Toss brings a fun, Austin-y spin on NY-style pizzas. They also provide a fun family friendly indoor/outdoor environment. Would highly recommend for hangouts, sporting events, and yummy pies.
