We got a chance to try the new lunch menu that launches tomorrow at Piccalilli in downtown Culver City. These were our favorite bites!
Nam Prik Wings – the skin is almost candied but it’s balanced by the savory peanuts and watch out for that sneaky heat. SO good. If you can handle spice, it’s a must get.
Potato Wedges – boring, right? One bite and you’re like “oh shit everybody else is doing these wrong!” Blanched and then triple fried, these are soft on the inside but crunchy fried goodness on the outside. The platonic ideal of the potato wedge.
Sweet and Tangy Chicken Katsu – crispy battered katsu chicken that fuses some umami flavors together that might initially short circuit your brain (it’s chicken but has a fish flavor from the bonito flakes?) but is really a great melding of well-executed tastes that you won’t find most anywhere else.
From the food down through the cocktails, everything was outstanding. If you’re in the CC area for lunch, definitely check them out!
