hey but shall we go through LaGuardia to
take a trip to the Greek Islands for
this week’s neighborhood eats this cozy
new spot on the Upper East Side will
transport you there you don’t have to go
to the you don’t delicious food fresh
ingredients and of course free flowing

ma’am to M we’re at Mikan house we’re
focusing a home uh home cooking very
traditional
recipes I’m very proud about octopus the
actual taste I had it when I was growing
up is the same thing so we try to keep
it that way we brace it in the oven till
it become like a kind of tender and then
we marinate it with extra Vin olive oil
the lemon juice and we simply Grill
it we make everyday fresh spanakopita at
least three for trays the spanac this is
this is very very traditional my
grandmother my my mother used to make
actually almost the same
way we try uh to get the best
ingredients we can as far as the
vegetables the cheeses they all imported
from Greece all the
products the seafood juvet we call it
can be like kind of similar to paa we
use sunry Tomatoes we use fresh tomatoes
to give the actual taste uh of the
tomato sauce good quality of Muses shms
scallops and uh also the saffron makes a
kind of difference and U olive oil
garlic yeah very very simple very simple

side for quite many years and I know a
lot of people are the customers uh to
walk in and feel like a home that was
the whole idea feel like like the have
the feeling like you’re in a Greek
island to feel the hospitality when you
see happy people and live happy and uh
they enjoy the food and everything and
our service and then that’s a biggest
satisfaction for
me like our mouths the spanic Copa that
you mentioned right now the pulpo I mean
I know that’s not how you say it in in
in Greek but I just love saying that so
I’m just saying it and it looks
delicious it does do it not right no it
looks great AB their answer to a p um I
do want to add this tidbit this is a
lovely little tidbit on this restaurant
owner Gregory was on the verge of
retirement when friends and neighbors
urged him to open this spot and he
credits his partner in business and in
life Aina with helping him make it a
