Tried this for the first time recently. Has a little heat and a very nice flavor.

I’ve never tried it but seems to get regular hate here 🤔 id try it though.

Saw it here. Bought it. Was underwhelmed.

It makes a fine spaghetti sauce.
FennelGrouchy69
South in yo mouth! A Louisiana style hot sauce made in North Carolina with Texas on the label and mentioned in at least one southern rap track.
PimpedByAngels
My favorite and go to hot sauce. Eggs, spaghetti, chili, hamburger helper. It goes with everything

When I imagine a scale for hot sauces, Texas Pete is always at the very bottom. It’s my anchor for mediocrity. My setting stone.
It’s the biggest and most well-known, least hot and least flavorful sauce on the market. I’ll die on that hill.
Rippin_Fat_Farts
It’s extremely mediocre but if it’s all that’s available I’ll happily use it.

This shit sucks

Bottom of the barrel but will do if thats all you got.

I know it’s easily anticipated that in any specialty group like this, mainstream options will be shit on. But it’s still disappointing.
I spent years cycling through mainstream grocery store hot sauces. They aren’t as interesting as the “craft” hot sauces often posted on here, but it’s fine for what it is.
I preferred Frank’s for my cheap hot sauce needs. But Texas Pete’s is enjoyable as well.

Regular one is meh, the extra hot one is much better. Go for the extra hot one if you can.
Dread_P_Roberts
As a Carolinian, it bothers me that it’s made here, but says “Texas” …lies! Also, there’s plenty of equally priced cheap hot sauces that are just better. I’ll take Crystal over this any day.

It’s a staple for many, but I find a bottle of Crystal for $1.15 which is much better sauce at a much better price.

Every sauce has something it pairs well with. I really enjoy Texas Pete and Louisiana Hot Sauce when I have something like chicken, hummus, and feta. It goes really well with those flavors.
Shuttle_Door_Gunner
I remember putting Texas Pete in my mom’s tamales when I was a kid, maybe 4-5 years old. Not one of my current favorites, but definitely the most nostalgic for me.

I’m from Winston Salem, where Texas Pete is made, so I grew up on the stuff. I love it on pizza, oysters, fried eggs, and chicken pie.

It’s my favorite. I’m basic, IDGAF.
Solid, everyday spark for eggs, tacos, etc.

You North Carolina’s Pete? Haha! Love this stuff! First had it while I was in the Army.
My go to. It’s not the most complex but it absolutely reliable. When in doubt grab Texas Pete. To me this is the best “southern” hot sauce.
I love it too. But unfortunately, I’m in Canada and the only way we can get it up here is through packets from Church’s chicken.
It’s North Carolina Pete damnit , lol
Yup, ran through all my Yucateco & Melinda’s.
Good ol’ Texas Pete holdin’ it down steady till I hit the store!
Goes well with rice and eggs over easy, but also basily anything else does well too.

The sauce that the army convinces you to enjoy.
Word on the street, everything heat.
Everything hot boy, Texas Pete.
