Background music from Apple
Song used: Park Bench
today we’re going to make a wonderful
sandwich we’re going to use some Swiss
cheese butter bread turkey and ham
nutmeg some cream and eggs believe
that’s everything let’s get started well
let’s make some clarified butter and I
want to take two sticks of butter which
is mmm one cup one cup of better we’re
gonna melt this over a low heat well
it’s been about a total time of 14 13 14
minutes 13 or 14 minutes is and at
bubble has been bubbling for about oh
four minutes I’m gonna move it off the
heat and we’re going to move it over
here
and we’re going to let this cool down
for three minutes well it’s actually
been about three and a half minutes I’m
gonna take a jar this is like a mason
jar a canning jar and put this here
and I put some cheesecloth and a
strainer and we’re gonna strain this
very carefully and slowly and this will
melt
or go through the cheesecloth into our
mason jar and we won’t we have about 2/3
cup of wonderful clarified butter
clarified butter is wonderful because it
has much higher a smoking point than
regular butter and plus adds wonderful
flavor to your cooking next we’re going
to take our three eggs I’m going to put
in a half a teaspoon of the nutmeg 1/2
teaspoon nutmeg and the cup of cream of
course you could use milk if you prefer
do you know it’s better with cream and
get this all mixed up this solution is
enough for two three sandwiches two or
three and you want to take your bread
and put some source cheese on here
don’t be too you know I’ll put a decent
amount on here I’m gonna take our turkey
when you use about 4 ounces of Turkey
and about 4 ounces of hand
yeah
bring it together and we’re going to
soak this bread in all of the egg
mixture here and get it really soaked on
both sides very well
longer than what I just did and take
some of our clarified butter put it in
the pan to melt and it’s been heating up
for just a little bit it’s on low heat
medium low heat and the sandwich is
soaked about two minutes per side put
this in our pan again we’re on low
medium low heat and let this cook right
there in the butter in about two minutes
we’re going to go ahead and check it as
I can smell the egg cooking I did cover
it with that foil right away
again we want to be on love cook this
for a little bit longer it’s been in
another four minutes let’s check it out
it’s looking very very nice I turn the
stove down just a little bit more we are
on pretty low heat here and this will do
it we’re not gonna have to put this in
the oven course you could if you’re in a
hurry put this in the oven to help the
cheese melt you’re just gonna keep on
going we’re gonna take it down ten
minutes total to cook this about ten
minutes and then keep covering it with
this and it’ll be just perfect let’s
look at this and check it out looking
pretty nice
very very very nice
mmm cheese is just oozing maybe I
could’ve used a couple more minutes you
know it cooked about 12:00 man it’s so
good though you gotta try this and thank
you so much for watching

excellent looking sandwich.
Wow you make an awesome sandwich.
Damn, that looks good!!
We had to do these in a restaurant I used to work in. We made about 20 of them up ahead and wrapped them in cellophane. Easier to work with and the stayed together better before we battered them. We deep fried them in the fryer. They are a great sandwich but a pain in the ass to make, when you are cooking other things as well. Great job on yours, looks great!!!
great looking sandwich, love Monte Cristo sandwiches

Fantastic sandwich, Michael! I must admit, I have heard of clarified butter before, but I didn't know what it was exactly. Thank you for educating me!

That looks amazing Michael! I have tried to make these a few times and now I see my problem..stovetop too high and rushing it. Next time I will follow your method and use the foil too. Warm wishes! 🙂
