hey there today I will be sharing five
of my favorite ways to use canned
chicken I absolutely love this shortcut
ingredient canned chicken just because
you could find a can for very affordable
at the store also it’s precooked and
canned chicken is always super tender
and delicious so we really enjoy it
let’s get to my kitchen now and let’s
get started to start us out this week we
are having this Mexican style rice and
chicken so to this pot on my stove I’m
adding in a bag of nor Mexican style
rice or you could use the Spanish style
rice or really any brand of that style
rice that you like I also added in some
oil and water that the back of the
package called for I’m just going to
cook this according to the package
instructions now over to this pan on my
stove I’m adding in a drained can of
Southwest style corn or you could use
normal corn corn I also added in a
drained and rinsed can of black beans
with a 12 oz can of chicken I did drain
my can of chicken then I added in a can
of diced tomatoes with green chilies a
can of red enchilada sauce and then I
added in a teaspoon of these seasonings
so salt pepper oregano cumin onion
powder and garlic powder I found that
these seasonings work really well for
this dish but you could use any
seasonings that you like give this a
stir and then add in the cooked Mexican
style rice that we just cooked up give
this another stir and let this simmer on
your stove for about 5 to 10 minutes
stirring it
occasionally once the simmering time is
up and everything is heated through you
could enjoy this dinner we topped ours
with a little bit of shredded cheese
iceberg lettuce and avocado but top
yours with anything that you enjoy this
has so many different delicious flavors
and this isn’t your typical like chicken
salad sandwich that you use with canned
chicken this dinner is
phenomenal here’s another amazing dinner
that you will probably love this easy
cheesy chicken pasta is wonderful I’m
starting out by dicing a red bell pepper
and a yellow onion in two smaller pieces
over to this pot of boiling water on my
stove I added in 8 oz of penet pasta and
I’m going to cook it according to the
package instructions over to this pan I
added in a tablesp of olive oil and a
tablespoon of butter then I added in my
bell pepper and onion let the bell
pepper and onion soften for about 3 to 5
minutes and if you don’t care for onion
or bell pepper you don’t have to add
them in but then I added in 2
tablespoons of allpurpose flour make
sure you stir that in well just so it
gets Incorporated with the veggies now
slowly whisk in a cup and a half of milk
you want to make sure you whisk that
milk in super slowly that way it will
just make the sauce super silky and
smooth you don’t want that flour to
become clumpy so just whisk it in slowly
I promise it will work super well but
once the sauce has thickened up a little
bit stir in your 12 oz of canned
[Music]
chicken this recipe truly is so easy to
throw together I’m adding in a teaspoon
of salt now a te spoon of oregano a
teaspoon of onion powder garlic powder
and paprika those are the seasonings I
added in next add in 2 cups of shredded
pepperjack cheese or really you could
use any cheese that you love give this a
stir and let that cheese melt down once
it’s like super beautifully melty like
this add in the cooked drained penet
pasta just coat the pasta in that cheesy
sauce and then you could serve this up
you probably won’t be able to get get
over this easy cheesy chicken pasta just
because it is that good all of the
flavors mixed together are just super
delicious like that pepper jack cheese
mixed with the bell pepper and then I
did serve this with steamed
asparagus now we’re making this sweet
potato hash and this one is one of my
husband’s favorites so I’m just dicing
up two large sweet potatoes and a large
yellow onion right now over to the pan
on my stove I’m adding in 2 tablespoons
of olive oil next I’m going to add in
the onion and the sweet potato that we
just cut up then you’re going to add in
a half a cup of chicken broth this is
going to help the potatoes cook give
this a stir and let this cook on your
stove for about 10 minutes Stir It
occasionally until the potatoes are
softer now I’m stirring in a tablespoon
of minced garlic then you’re going to
add in the remaining ingredients so I’m
adding in a can of fire roasted diced
tomatoes or you could use regular diced
tomatoes
1/3 a cup more chicken broth a 12 oz can
of chicken 2 cups of fresh spinach and
then a teaspoon of pepper a teaspoon of
salt a teaspoon of paprika onion powder
garlic powder and Italian seasoning give
this a stir and let this simmer for
about 5 minutes I do want to let you
know if you don’t care for sweet
potatoes you could always use regular
potatoes as a substitute and then you
could always add veggies or subtract
veggies but after the simmering time is
up add a half a cup of shredded parmesan
cheese on top let the cheese melt down
and you could serve this up if you don’t
care for cheese of course you don’t have
to add the parmesan this dinner is so
high in protein and vegetables also if
you want to meal prep this dinner for
the week this recipe is so fantastic to
do so just because everything reheats
really well so if you want to prep it
either for lunches in like little
containers or dinners you really can
with this this
one now we’re making this lemon chicken
spaghetti and you can make this one in
under 10 minutes so to this pot of
boiling water I’m adding in 8 oz of
spaghetti cook the spaghetti according
to the package instructions now over to
this pan I’m adding in a tablespoon of
butter once the butter was melted I
added in a tablespoon of minced garlic
and I’m going to stir it around until
it’s fragrant about 10 seconds now add
in a 12 oz can of chicken in the a
teaspoon of salt a half a teaspoon of
pepper a teaspoon of paprika and a
teaspoon of Italian seasoning give this
a really good stir and coat the chicken
in all the seasonings I let this cook on
my stove for a couple of minutes this is
going to give the chicken a lot of great
Flavor now add in half a cup of heavy
cream along with the juice from one
lemon I’m just squeezing that juice
right in there now I’m adding in a/4 a
cup of Parmesan cheese and then give
this a really good stir and let it
simmer for a couple of minutes on the
stove and let that cheese melt down now
that our pasta is cooked through and
tender I am going to remove a half a cup
of the water that the pasta is cooking
in and I’m actually going to add it into
our sauce this is a great way to thin
out the sauce and kind of bulk up the
sauce a little bit so I’m just stirring
that in once it was well Incorporated I
just strained that pasta and I added
that cooked spaghetti right in there
give this a stir to coat the spaghetti
in that yummy lemon sauce and then you
could serve it
[Music]
up nobody likes when the lemon flavor is
so overpowering that it is the only
thing that you taste in your dinner but
this is perfect because it has a hint of
that lemon flavor and it has like an
Herby flavor it really is delicious I
did serve this with a side salad with
Italian
dressing now we’re making this chicken
noodle C cassero so to a pot of boiling
water add in 8 oz of egg noodles or you
could use any type of noodle that you
like cook it according to the package
instructions and then strain it and set
these noodles to the side we’re going to
work on the cheddar breadcrumb topping
now so into this bowl I added a half a
cup of shredded cheddar cheese a half a
cup of Italian style panc breadcrumbs
and 2 tablespoons of melted butter stir
this to coat everything in the butter
and then you are going to set this
topping to the the side I pulled out a
9×13 baking dish and you want to spray
it with non-stick spray add the cooked
egg noodles right in there next add in
one can of cream of chicken soup then
you’re going to add in one cup of frozen
peas or you could add in any type of
Frozen vegetable that you like or skip
the veggies if you’d like then a 12 oz
can of drained chicken a half a cup of
milk and then a teaspoon of pepper a
teaspoon of onion powder garlic powder
pepper paprika and oregano give this a
stir and just spread this out and then
over the top you’re going to sprinkle
that PCO cheddar mixture on bake this in
a preheated oven to
350° for about 25 to 30 minutes or until
the top is golden
[Music]
brown I could pretty much eat all of the
cheddar Pinko topping on the top of this
casserole in one sitting it really is
that good and the little crunch that it
gives is so perfect I’m sure you’re
going to love this casserole as much as
we do and those egg noodles in it just
are like the perfect noodle for it if

  1. I had bought plenty of can chicken….then wondering what I was actually going to do with it all…..then I ran across your video!!! So happy!!! 😁👍👍💖

  2. I love your videos idk how your children are but if they're school age I was wondering if you make their lunches if so could you make videos please 😊

  3. Honestly thank you. I’ve been trying to figure out how to not stop spending 600 a month on groceries with my teacher salary. 😬😬😬

  4. Hi Julia, I have never used canned chicken b4 – I try to use whole ingredients, not familiar with canned chicken – do I drain the chicken for all of these recipes? I'd be grateful for anyone's advice. Thank u – and Julia, I love your videos, thanks so much!

  5. Hi Julia, I made your cheesy chicken pasta, and unfortunately I'm.super sick so I can't taste it, but I'm sure it's super delicious like all your meals ❤❤❤❤

  6. Made the Lemon Spaghetti. Took a shortcut and used camned cream of chicken. Soooo good!! Next time will use bow tie i think. Ty Julie!!

  7. Ur measurements for example 8 oz of pasta, does that serve 2 adults and 2 small children? Would I double these recipes for 2 adults and 2 1/2 teens?

  8. tried your recipe in another video which was a casserole with barbecue sauces and Ranch dressing, tasted great bu after I ate it, I found myself being very thirsty. After looking up the amount of salt in just those two sauces, it adds up to an enormous amount of salt, cheddar cheese in it too, more salt.
It is a mistake to use so much in one recipe.

  9. Hi Julia, I made the mexican rice & chicken meal. It didn't look" tasty however it was Really good.
    Thank you 💐

  10. I made Spanish Rice a 'Roni and used Walmart Rotel tomato can knockoffs in place of fire roasted ones. I also added rotisserie chicken about 1/2, Trader Joe's roasted frozen corn, about a teaspoon of TJ's "Everything but the Elote" seasoning, and topped with green onions and Mrs Cubbinson's Fiesta tortilla strips, jalapeno slices, 'n sour cream. It's a yummy dinner.

  11. I made the Mexican rice and chicken last week when my sister -in-law was here and i only had the spanish rice you said it could be used unstead so my husband loved it and said remember this recipe it needs to be a regular. I love it when i fix something quick and he goes nuts for it…but whats sad is I've made harder more time consuming food and i get it was o.k. lol 😂 thank you ❤

  12. Julia, these recipes looks so delicious and easy too which is exactly what I need! I'd like know where I can find nutrition information for each recipe. Also is the nutrition information for each recipe included in your new cookbook? My family needs to be on a somewhat specialized diet due to some health concerns. Thank you!

  13. Ordered my book …. Just in case of black out 😂 cause I also enjoy these videos 😊

  14. I made the cheesy chicken and loved it!
I have made the chicken noodle casserole now three times, it has become a staple in my family. The breadcrumbs are so good, I load the top of the casserole with so much 🤤 😂
Going to try the lemon spaghetti one next!

  15. I have 3 large jars of beef and 1 large jar and 1smaller jar of chicken. Can I put all these together to cook for a pressure cooker for 90 min?
