here’s why mashed potatoes are way
better in restaurants first they’re
probably using Yukon Gold potatoes I
boil the potatoes whole cuz they get a
little less water log don’t throw away
those skins though cuz you can fry them
until they get crispy and you got nice
little potato breadcrumbs shout out sad
poppy on the side heat up some milk with
garlic and whatever herbs SL substances
you want to infuse one of the biggest
differences is that restaurants use a
ricer or a potato press like this to get
it crazy smooth and a lot of salt and
the most obvious restaurant trick is is
butter some places allegedly do equal
parts potato and butter which is kind of
Epic but I want to live to be at least
35 so we’ll do half of that and I swear
to God if you put gravy on this man
that’s totally fine enjoy your food you
pay for it oh

best mashed potato topping/flavor?
Nah, go 50/50 potatoes and gruyere cheese with 6 tbsp of butter and 4 oz of creme fraice, and 1 mashed clove of garlic. You won't regret it.

Russets are better than Yukon golds. Every time I've had Yukon Gold mashed potatoes it's had this awful gluey mouth feel and the taste is just off to me. I make killer mashed potatoes using russets.

Cook the potatoes in beef stock with a pinch of Umami and it'll get a nice meaty flavour through the mash
