Bought the new Weber Searwood this week. Tried to fire it up today for the first time and… nothing. Control panel just showed an e16 error. Which I quickly learned is an error that could not be dismissed. I called Weber, they said a specialist would reach out in 24-48 hours. I was pissed as I had a big day of burgers and chicken drumsticks planned for the day.

Unplugged it, plugged it back in, same error code. Then on a whim I pulled off the controller, which is only held on by magnets, and unclogged the usb-c wire, plugged it back in and BINGO! The grill fired up. Been grilling all day with no issues. Sharing this in case others run into this e16 error as well.
Happy grilling.

What was clogging the USB-C cable?
