Ingredients
– Carrot
– Egg plant
– Capsicums
– Onion
– Garlic
– Zucchini
– Leak
– Grated Tomatoes or chopped tomatoes
Seasonings
– Salt
– Pepper
– Cinnamon
– Bay leaves
Method:
1. Soak beans overnight
2. Dice all vegetables and put into pot
3. Add Lentils to vegetables and add water and seasoning
4. Cook until beans and vegetables are soft

hey guys and welcome back so today we’re
going to be making lentil soup now this
is amazing it’s without oil you guys can
obviously make it with oil so we’re
going to soak the lentils from the night
before I used two packets cuz we’re
doing this for the church so a large
quantity if it’s just for a family just
use one packet and we’re just going to
leave these to soak overnight so a lot
of people say why you making lentil soup
it’s not that nice it doesn’t have a lot
of flavor and that is because you guys
aren’t putting enough vegetables in it
the more vegetables the more flavor and
the nicer it will turn out now here’s me
and my mom we’re cutting up all the
vegetables so I put in carrot eggplant
capsican onion garlic zucchini and Lake
but you guys can also put in any other
vegetables you have at home like spring
onion or tomatoes so with all these
ingredients you’re going to cut the
pieces really fine and really small
you’re going to dice them up and you’re
going to be putting them all into a big
pot now you guys can see I’m cutting up
a lot of vegetables in this case we
actually cooked this for the church um
we went to one of our services where we
fasted all day and then we had communion
and then we all ate together so that’s
why we’re cooking such a large quantity
so for just one family I would just use
half of everything so instead of using
four carrots just use two instead of
using this whole fennel just use half so
once you cut up all the ingredients then
you’re going to strain the lentils and
you’re going to put the lentils into the
same Bowl as the vegetables so once
you’ve done that we’re going to put in
the seasonings so salt pepper cinnamon I
put it in powder form and also the whole
stick and bay
leaves then you’re going to fill up the
whole pot with water now I put in 4 L of
water again this is a big serving so you
guys will only need probably around two
and then I also put in one tin of grated
tomato which does not have any added
sugar or anything to it it’s just pure
tomato and that is it so once you’ve
done that you’re going to mix everything
in you’re going to cook it I normally
leave this on from the morning until
around about 1:00 so that cooks for
around about 5 hours but it doesn’t need
to cook that long it could cook on
around about an hour to 2 hours
depending on what temperature you have
it on I have it on 12 and then I turn it
down after it starts bubbling to a low
heat so it cook slowly so I don’t need
to worry about it all day and so it’s
just a meal that I make and is ready to
eat whenever we need it so I really hope
