The BEST Keto Appetizer is BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP with SRIRACHA MAYO

If you are looking for an easy and incredibly delicious keto appetizer to make, consider Bacon Wrapped Shrimp. These shrimp are pump and juicy. Anything wrapped in bacon is delicious but put it on some shrimp and dip it in a spicy sriracha mayo and this is a next level low carb appetizer.

In this video, I show you how to brine shrimp and prep the bacon by par cooking it before wrapping it around the shrimp. Partial cooking the bacon before wrapping and grilling will ensure the bacon is fully cooked all around without overcooking the shrimp.

Brining the shrimp in a mixture of baking soda and salt creates plump and juicy shrimp. Without brining the shrimp risk becoming dry and rubbery.

The next time you need to bring an appetizer to a party or gathering, bring these Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with a side of Sriracha Mayo!

BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP RECIPE WITH SRIRACHA MAYO

20 jumbo shrimp (16/20 count), peeled, deveined, tail on
10 slices bacon, cut in half
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon sriracha sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and place the cut strips of bacon the tray.
Par cook the bacon until it begins to shrink and turn slightly red, about 10 minutes. The bacon should be flexible and not completely cooked.
Cool the bacon until it is easy to handle with fingertips, about 5 minutes. Wrap a slice of par-cooked bacon around each shrimp, slice through a pre-soaked skewer or insert a toothpick to secure the wrap. Continue wrapping.

Grill the bacon wrapped shrimp skewers over direct high heat for 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until the shrimp have plumped up and are white and pink. Or cook in a 400 degree oven for about 5 minutes each side.
To make the sriracha mayo, mix the mayonnaise and sriracha sauce together until combined.
++++To brine your shrimp, let shrimp sit in an ice bath made of 4 cups of water, ice, 1 teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon baking powder for 15 to 30 minutes. Then, remove shrimp and let dry on a paper towel before proceeding with the rest of the recipe. ++++

I Got You by Frigga

today I have a recipe for grilled
bacon-wrapped shrimp and this is a
perfect appetizer for any sort of diet
you follow whether that’s keto low-carb
carnivore standard American diet it is
guaranteed to please everyone these
shrimp are brined first and this creates
a really juicy plump shrimp and then
they’re wrapped in bacon so let’s see
how we make this
[Music]
the shrimp we’re gonna use for this
recipe is a jumbo shrimp so it’s the 16
to 20 count shrimp per pound and we’re
gonna brine it first this is a mixture
of 1 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of
baking soda some water and we’re gonna
put it in an ice bath and let it brine
for 15 to 30 minutes and the purpose of
this is just because it creates really
plump juicy shrimp as opposed to like
that rubbery kind of tough shrimp up
next we’re gonna Park cook our bacon
so with this bacon I’ve cut them into
half strips here so just cut the bacon
right in half and we’re gonna bake it in
the oven a 350 degree oven for 10 to 12
minutes until it’s partially cooked and
the whole purpose of doing this is so
that when you grill your shrimp that
your bacon actually gets cooked all the
way through that it becomes crispy on
the outside and it’s not rubbery or
undercooked on the inside
and after our Bacon’s done you want to
let it cool for a little bit just so
that it’s cool enough to handle and then
we’re gonna wrap each little piece of
bacon around the shrimp and then fit it
through a skewer and you want to fit it
through the spear so that the shrimp
lays flat so that it’s easy to just sit
on the grill and lay there on its flat
side just like that
[Music]
[Music]
once your shrimp are all wrapped in
bacon and now it’s time to put it on the
grill I’m gonna be cooking my
bacon-wrapped shrimp on a gas grill over
high heat but I did notice that my grill
was really dirty so I’m gonna clean it
first and then spray it with a little
bit of duck fat and then we’ll get to
grilling
and these are cooked over direct heat
and you do want to keep an eye on them
just because shrimp does cook fairly
fast so it only takes about three to
five minutes on each side it just
depends on how thick your shrimp are
[Music]
so once they start to get that kind of
orangish and white coloring on them then
it’s time to flip them
[Music]
and once your shrimp are done cooking on
both sides you can remove them from the
grill and now it’s time to serve them I
like to serve my bacon-wrapped shrimp
with a side of sriracha mayo it’s spicy
and it’s creamy and it’s perfect for
dipping these bacon-wrapped shrimp in if
you want the full recipe for these
shrimp and my sriracha mayo then I have
the full recipe in the description box
below or click on the link and it takes
you to my website make sure you like
this video if you’re a big fan of bacon
like I am and don’t forget to subscribe

  1. Enjoyed the video. Well done. Love bacon wrapped shrimp. Never thought to the brine shrimp. Definitely trying this recipe over the Labor Day weekend.

  2. Hi Annie! Love your videos & thanks for all of the yummy recipes. Question, can this be done in the oven & if so, what temp & for how long?

  3. I made and they were tasty, mine definitely did NOT look this pretty. I did not marinate and they were still juicy, but I had HUGE shrimp from the sea of Cortez. I used thick cut bacon which was hard to wrap, didn't stay on well, and, if you can believe it…imparted too much bacon flavor. I would suggest thin slices and just enough bacon to accent the shrimp, my shrimp flavor was lost in it. Trust me, I LOVE bacon. The sriracha mayo was INCREDIBLE for dipping. I will DEFINITELY make this again, than you so much for your time and hard work as I am an uninventive, lackluster keto cook who needs the help! This made for a great meal!

  4. Would have been nice to know ahead of time that you we're not doing the Sriracha mayo in this video. That's what I came to the video for, I already made my bacon wrapped shrimp. Misleading video. SMH.
