amidst a whole lot of chefs who had no business being in the kitchen there have also been plenty of shining stars just like this Chef who turned a rocky start in the competition into something fruitful there’s no doubt that Christine ha has a special place in my heart and those of fans too but I’ve practically talked her to death recently so how about some of the other contestants who’ve earned their place amongst the fan base’s favorites and this contestant right here had a pretty rough start in the competition I think Shawn O’Neal’s journey in season 7 was pretty incredible when the competition first kicked off I wasn’t vibing with his over-the-top behavior Sean is a serious type A personality and I was far from the only one with that opinion yeah his domineering tone didn’t earn him any friends but guess what as the show went on he whipped out this crazy talent that just stole the show absolutely delicious love the texture of the saled camera yeah sure he had his moments of being a bit too cocky and full of himself but you can’t argue with the fact that the dude knew his way around a kitchen in the end Shawn managed to flip the script winning not just the Master Chef title but the cool $250,000 prize that came with it it’s like who cares about First Impressions when you’ve got some serious culinary chops right and well that sha for as of today the man’s come a long way Sha’s legit a celebrity chef Making Waves around the world in his own right what’s more he hosted Seasons 8 9 and 10 of Master Chef plus the Master Chef celebrity Showdown and that’s not all he’s been rocking it on best in food on the Travel Channel doing cooking demos and even playing guest judge on Home and Family episodes oh and did I mention that he’s in TV commercials too yeah Sea’s teamed up with Morning Star Farms showing off recipes he’s whipped up for them the dude’s on fire well he definitely seems like he’s on a fast track to culinary stardom and it’s not just because of his Master Chef win the guy’s a self-taught master diving into hundreds of cookbooks and Globe trotting to get a taste for diverse Cuisine speaking about his book release he said the reason that I did Master Chef was for the cookbook so I I’m I’m honored to be able to share it with so many people trust me he’s become a big deal in modern American Cuisine with that sprinkle of international flare to take things up a notch but it doesn’t stop there he’s also a go-to celebrity Consulting chef from training chefs at a luxury resort in Costa Rica to making a Snickers themed five course menu during South by Southwest Shan’s really taking advantage of every little career booster he can get his hands on oh and did I mention the Nationwide partnership he got into with Newcastle yeah calling this dude business savvy would be the understatement of the century but given the chance do you know what kind of food he dive into himself I’m a steak guy I’m a meet and potatoes same here bro same here give me a svie pic any day and I’d be a happy man now if you guys are steak fans just like Shawn and me don’t forget to drop a like And subscribe to my channel I got some amazing content coming right at you and checking out my Discord channel is a fantastic way to keep the discussion going by the way Sha’s a hot commodity for private and corporate dinners companies like drip and canacon are snagging him for his killer kitchen skills and flare for entertainment and wherever he goes he makes sure he’s paying it forward by sharing the wisdom he’s gained along the way uh a sharp knife you know so many people are working with dull knives yeah let that go to show how much of a gem this guy is he’s definitely come a long way personality wise too and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he’s taking his show on the road adding Ireland Italy Singapore and Dubai to his list of destinations well let’s let Shawn do his thing meanwhile though I’ve got another contestant whose Charisma knows no bounds yeah I’m talking about cladius and ofal the season six champ who took the trophy in no small part because of her killer Mexican dishes that finale though pure magic but I’m getting ahead of myself what really set her apart from the rest was her versatility she can handle any cuisine no problem she’s not just a onetick pony love the Hibiscus fragrance that’s nice is so perfumed delicious and did I mention she’s got a funny side to her too there’s great emotions and there’s even tears anyway I’ve buried the lead long enough here’s how the finale kicked off it was next level crazy especially when she whipped up tamales with Mexican truffles during the judge check-in she was really confident about her dish but it was when she tasted her dish but she knew her effort had paid off she was legit in tears because it was that good but you have to see Ramsay’s reaction to it he was in shock tasting your own food and then crying wow that’s a first for me here’s the Dead a wheat L Co tamale with cactus salsa avocado crma and cheat your own it was a sight to behold in and of itself simple yet elevated Ramsay was all about its beauty and finesse and Graham loved how perfectly balanced it was Christina also pitched in by just appreciating that something this Stellar had hit the plate at all later when Claudia switched to Entre she served a swordfish with Mexican squash and chickpeas swordfish served over sauté chaote and fresh chickpeas it was a solid looking dish though maybe not quite measuring up to derk’s wow factor in the Aesthetics Department a pan seared venison with root vegetables a huckleberry sauce Ramsay was worried about it being dry but this is your most accomplished dish that you’ve ever cooked in this competition he gave her props for presenting her most accomplished dish ever and Christina and Graham were on the same page however the desert round took a dramatic turn for Claudia water splashed inside when I moved the tray her flan molds were leaking and she had to start from scratch meanwhile Derek was dealing with a thick batter that just refused to cooperate but both the finalists got back on track and just like that it was time for the final tasting Claudia presented a habiscus poach pear dish and yeah cludia ran away with it this is a really eye openening dessert soon enough the winner was revealed closing the chapter on yet another intense season and you have to agree it was a well-deserved win [Applause] Claudia Claudia’s culinary Journey had its ups and downs sure but in the end she delivered on all fronts cut to the present and she’s not just sitting on her hands you can catch her judging on various cooking shows like the Easter basket Challenge on the Food Network and of course Master Chef Latino I’m back as a judge for Master Chef Latino 2 and I’m so excited yeah it’d be a crime if she didn’t make an appearance there but that’s not all she’s running her own catering and consulting company oh and did I mention she’s The Mastermind behind a Mexican bakery called coochi Dorado the woman’s a culinary Powerhouse with no plans of slowing down Claudia sand ofal is on a journey that’s nothing short of inspiring from sharing a one-bedroom apartment with her daughter to owning her childhood home and investing in her business Cloud as Cina she is making moves she’s proving that traditional recipes can be elevated breaking stereotypes about Mexican food being just burritos and tacos her achievements keep stacking up hitting number one bestseller on Amazon with her book making numerous appearances on TV shows and she’s still going strong it’s pretty unbelievable and she rightly feels blessed believe me Claudia is turning dreams into reality and oh did I mention she did all this as a single mother keep it up Claudia but this next contestant is a Dancer an artist and a chef I’m talking about my boy Dino Angelo luchano from season 8 for real everybody loves this guy his Italian dishes were such a hit that even the notoriously picky Joe Bastian couldn’t raise a bad word against them Dino was quirky creative and always kept the judges and viewers on their toes Dino was a dark horse who danced his way into the kitchen no doubt he made season 8 Unforgettable especially in this challenge where the chefs had limited time in the pantry but had to whip up three unique dishes Dino took a risk with his Squid Ink capalini with calamari clams and cherry tomatoes I I know you probably haven’t fallen in love with my charm tonight the judges had initial doubts but those same doubts immediately evaporated once they tasted it uh young lady you know tough night but your timing is spot on Ramsay’s only critique was about the Squid’s cooking time but pretty much everything else was spot on still it was a Triumph for Dino and his bold move paid off Joe is so impressed that he made him an offer right on the spot I mean however you want to eat it um that’s perfectly up to you however that was all about the appetizer portion next up it was time for the main dish Dino faced a make or break moment cooking lamb belly the lamb he was preparing wasn’t done well the pressure was on because if he didn’t nail it it could ruin the entire dish still he came out the other side with a rack of lamb with lamb belly sunchoke caponata and balam it glaze but the critical question on everyone’s mind was whether or not the lamb was cooked to [Music] Perfection Chef Sanchez’s cut revealed a beautiful pink shade a perfect medium rare however the judges felt the overall dish was too sweet lacking some much needed acidity Ramsey in particular was disappointed emphasizing that the textures weren’t right he suggested a puree instead Dino took the critique to Heart knowing he had to bounce back from the setback the journey continued with a lesson learned in the art of balancing flavors and textures in the final stretch of the competition the pressure was on to deliver an outstanding dessert the judges were looking for something not just sweet but unique ordinary wouldn’t cut it Dino always push boundaries and he wasn’t going to slack off on his big day pistachio with an orange mapos cream and espresso he opted for tiasu with a Twist espresso caviar but it left everyone including the judges a bit skeptical Dino had been showcasing traditional Italian dishes with a modern flare throughout the competition but the espresso caviar took things up a notch it could honestly go either way here but Dino managed to complete his pistachio tiramisu with orange marscapone cream espresso C caviar and pistachio Tuli to the judges but the Judgment let’s just say it wasn’t fully in his favor of a carrot cake I was going to say exactly the same the they found it intriguing but noted that it tasted more like carrot cake but they still enjoyed the flavor however the execution fell short for them especially with the Tiramisu and Christina not being a fan of the espresso caviar the competition was intense with the judges agreeing on at least one law in each contestant’s dish this made the final verdict incredibly challenging as there was no clear winner the dessert rounds certainly added a Twist to the already unpredictable and competitive season 8 but things definitely worked out in the end at least for our man Dino Dino oh my God yeah as if there was any doubt but hold on that was just the beginning Dino didn’t stop there during his season he dropped a hip-hop single that was definitely a new one for master cheef and as if that wasn’t enough he went on to open his own restaurant in Montreal proving that winning Master Chef was just the start of an exciting new chapter for him love you Dino Baby Doll now moving on to the season 9 champ jerone Herz he’s this amazing guy from Kentucky a real southern cooking Pro a 25-year-old English teacher from Louisville jerone was all about taking his country cooking to the next level and he had this knack for seizing every chance he got in the master chef kitchen plus he’s got this super kind and courteous Vibe it’s pretty cool as of today he’s rocking the food truck scene with his own spy dishing out some fantastic Southern Cuisine oh and he’s a proud husband and Dad too now back to the show in the finale there was a bit of chaos as all the contestants rushed into the pantry for ingredients before getting down to cooking jome true to his roots whipped up a plate of Nashville hot Quail with fingerling potato salad and poached quail eggs and poached quail eggs the dish is beautiful it was like a throwback to what got him his seat in the competition in the first place surprisingly he’d never cooked Quail before and The Taste wasn’t perfect but the judges loved how well cooked and plated it was definitely could have been worse but here’s the rub acts the cohesiveness of one conceptualized appetizer they felt the cohesiveness was a bit off the potato and quail combo didn’t quite hit the mark Jeron explains that he was keeping it real to his roots where anything fried goes with potato salad the judges definitely didn’t disagree but Joe was a bit concerned that Jerome might be too set in his ways and of course as always he had a few things to say has to be a strict reference to where you come from anymore it’s time for you to fly pushing for contestants to step out of their comfort zones and well not all of those challenges paid off tough break but hey Jerome’s entree was a showstopper n prawns with harom grits a shellfish aou carabinero prawns with arloom grits shellfish aou and crispy shallots it not only looked amazing but it also tasted great but again there was Joe who who still had reservations about playing it too safe so he confronted Jerome about it t night your opportunity to leave in response Jerome was both deep and straight up tonight was about showcasing skill but also staying true to he saw it as more than just sticking to his Southern Roots it was about telling his personal story connecting with where he grew up and his family the shrimping grits was an ODed to his mother’s love for it jerone was all about out elevating that story no need for any random French twists then came the dessert round where everyone tapped into their Roots jeron’s dessert and amoretto chest pie with raspberry and popped Sor gum sounded like the perfect bed but there was a small issue saucing of a dish like this yeah messy coolies will do that to you he acknowledged that he could have plated it better with more time but didn’t defend the slip when the judges brought it up but that aside how was the rest of the dish it’s got such finesse to put the filling in they loved it and appreciated how all three of Jerome’s Creations told a compelling story of his roots and journey it was genuine Southern Cuisine some even Joe recognized in the end and his performance paid off jiron which I’ve been highlighting him it may seem obvious that he took it but it was pretty surprising watching it live a welcome surprise for sure but surprising but some folks weren’t quite as pleasantly surprised but yeah popcorn kerning said it best messy delicious beats pristine good any day in my book now this next contestant has got a special place in my heart and those of many others too I’m talking about Whitney Miller who is the season 1 winner making her the first US master Chef four contestants remain this Southern bell impressed everyone with her downhome cooking skills earning praise from the judges and ultimately securing the very first Master Chef title but many viewers were disappointed as they wanted David to win the season instead because according to them Whitney lacked the technique leadership maturity and creativity but I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments because I’m not fully convinced anyways Whitney Miller is as powerful in the kitchen as they come wearing multiple hats as a chef cookbook author recipe and menu developer and food stylist her influence extends globally too with features showcasing her Southern cuisine in places like China Dubai Malaysia and South Africa Whitney also writes blog posts and recipes for renowned companies and magazines including big green egg turis penobscott mccrum potato company Southern Living and more and she’s not just limited to print Whitney has graced television screens on shows like Good Morning America good morning fab life with Chrissy Tegan additionally she hosts satellite media tours for food and cookware companies and creates stunning dishes as a food stylist contributing to Brands like Hampton in by Hilton Whitney Miller also achieved a milestone as the First Southern Chef featured at Chef dance during the Sundance Film Festival a hell of an honor Beyond that she’s had the privilege of cooking for star studded clientele including celebrities like fixer uper chip and Joanna gains Duck Dynasty’s Jason Missy Robertson as well as Tim TBO and Chris Tomlin all right here we go look at the Flor feels like we got a lot her culinary skills have certainly made waves in both prestigious culinary events and in serving notable personalities Whitney Miller continues to shine in just about any medium she’s been recognized as one of TJ Maxx’s hero women women and is a national spokesperson for the vidalia onion committee and envy Apple but that’s not all she’s got more upper sleeve such as being a featured Chef for cooking Panda’s cooking Panda Academy a Celebrity Fashion Show panelist for Neiman Marcus cusp a guest co-host for a daytime talk show and a food stylist for Hampton in by Hilton additionally she showcased her skills on the Food Network as a food stylist and served as a food expert for product promotions not to mention she is the proud owner of Whitney’s cookies got to say her resume definitely blows mine out of the water nowadays her Instagram feed serves as a glimpse into her life featuring adorable moments with her kids and the best from Whitney’s cookies and you better bet that a ton of fans like myself love keeping up with the ongoing success of the OG Master Chef Cham But Here Comes the most indisputable winner of all time who completely stole the show let alone everyone’s Hearts going from writing her master’s thesis at the University of Houston to clinching the Master Chef title with such class in honor is one of the greatest Cinderella stories ever seen on the show this is the story of the greatest Chef the show is ever seen back in 2012 this young Prodigy did something totally unexpected she took a break from her studies to try out for master Sha but of course there was one issue standing in her way way she had lost her vision because of an illness an autoimmune condition that affected my nerves my spinal cord and my optic nerves but that didn’t stop her from cooking up fantastic traditional Vietnamese dishes coming to Master Chef as the first blind contestant ever doesn’t intimidate me at all at first she didn’t think much of the audition didn’t take it seriously just saw it as a potential story to write about but life is funny she not only breathed through all the audition but ended up winning the entire show to boot so ever since being on Master Chef a lot of people tell me that I’m like the real life Daredevil can we give it up for the one and only [Applause] Christine Christine ha got to be one of my favorite contestants of all time she’s been quoted saying to brain in life by 2007 I realized that my new reality was permanent vision loss and periodic bouts with other symptoms I remember standing in the kitchen trying to make a peanut butter sandwich it ended up a mess I couldn’t even make a sandwich I wasn’t sure if I would ever cook again oh but she did far far more than make a good old PB and J on the show but before I get into that she currently stands as the esteemed author of a widely acclaimed cookbook and is a sought after speaker too having graced multiple TED Talks Beyond these accomplishments she helped the esteemed position of executive chef at sincha nestled just north of Tinsley Park she actually just parted ways with them last month to focus on other Ventures additionally she’s reopened her inaugural restaurant blind goat in the early days of 2023 it’s located in Spring Branch Village where she currently resides with her husband of 13 years my husband’s here supporting me he’s my biggest fan now the weight of loss has been a lifelong companion for ha at only 14 years old she encountered one of her first when her mother succumbed to cancer this pivotal experience served as an emotional load star guiding her through her own journey of grief and growth that aside Christine’s Roots Trace back to her parents’ migration from Vietnam in the mid 1970s my parents came here from Vietnam in 1975 but she was born in the heart of Southern California in 1979 and a significant portion of her upbringing was in Houston in her earlier years the foods her Vietnamese parents prepared often evoked a sense of embarrassment within her a disconnect between the traditional dishes she was raised on and the allert of more normal American Fair like Balon and cheese however witnessing her mother who was a dedicated social worker endure the arduous Trials of chemotherapy and eventually succumbed into her illness cast a different light on her youthful perspective ha found herself in a complex emotional space where the teenage desire for normaly collided with the solemnity of her mother’s condition she felt constrained unable to engage in typical teenage conflicts for fear of adding to her mother’s burden yet in hindsight she recognizes the profound impact those moments had in shaping the person she is today the loss of her mother also the loss of cherished traditional Vietnamese recipes as an adult grappling with her visual impairments ha embarked on a poignant Journey recreating those lost recipes and she was armed with not but Vietnamese cookbooks her father’s recollection and her finally tuned palette also since Master Chef she has also appeared in the food series four senses my show for senses is a cooking show and it originally airs on Ami or accessible media accessible media the network behind the show provides content specifically tailored to people with vision and hearing impairments and this type of accessibility is something Christine advocated for in her Ted Talk on inclusivity in television production what’s remarkable about Christine is her empathy and understanding of the need for a Level Playing Field speaking of she’s also very forward-thinking when one of her competitors Michael came out as gay he feared that his family might not be as accepting as as he’d been hoping but Christine offered him her support saying if it gets bad at home with your parents or whatever you can always come crash at my place I mean Christine total Class Act she has proven time and time again that even when all the odds are stacked against you you still have the ability to win it all for everyone in America you can overcome anything you want to overcome and get what you want to get seriously make this your morning affirmation guys I know I have now remember the epic clapback she had when Joe asked if her disability could be a disadvantage because I can’t see I won’t be worrying about what other people are doing I love the fact you’re tasting everything I have to I can’t see always focus on the silver lining am I right speaking of Joe he is known for acting like a jerk and saying stuff out of line and I made my thoughts on that clear in a recent video of mine but with Christine he genuinely cared for her and that feeling grew stronger as the season progressed especially by the finale as you talk about your food not only are you able to express it in words but your face speaks volumes well after he tried to stick her in the coat check that is check out my video if you’re out of the loop on that anyway she talked about the judges Personalities offscreen in a Reddit AMA sharing Gordon and Graham are the same on an off camera Joe is nicer off camera at least to me but I’ve seen him angrier off camera at others too favorite judge would have to be Gordon because he’s so overthe toop and ridiculous and now let’s get into Master Chef itself about time right well after auditions came The Season’s first Mystery Box challenge Christine has an aid but under no circumstances can her Aid interfere with the dish while everyone else got a visual on their mystery ingredients Christine had a bigger Hill decline all she could do was listen and feel but she listened intently to every detail committing each ingredient to memory and oh by the way she had the chance to choose her Aid by interviewing three people and guess who made the cut Cindy but of course there were some ground rules Christine and Cindy couldn’t chat about food at all during the show plus Cindy had a pretty limited role no cutting tasting or cooking that was all on Christine when Cindy had to grab stuff for her Christine couldn’t budge from her station basically Cindy acted as Christine’s eyes and a second set of much more limited hands but she couldn’t do much else it was all to keep things fair with the other competitors anyway it was an absolute treat watching her perform so grounded so humble in a competition that’s also featured people as cocky as this guy I’m really not surprised that my plate is one of the top dishes these other cooks are going to have to step up their game if they’re going to want to compete with me more like climbing down a few steps well honestly Ryan’s duck with bananas was just just plain embarrassing and the judges hated it too You’ve Gone Bananas that’s what’s happened You’ve Gone Bananas then during the first Elimination Challenge the contestants faced the daunting task of recreating Joe’s notorious risoto while the others were at the pantry Christine had to rely on her memory she couldn’t explore new flavors or experiment she was restricted to what she knew Innovation is going to be a big challenge for me yet when it came time for the verdict Ramsay praised Christine for her incredible pallet but there was some room for improvement FIS fair and obviously instead of being delusional she Incorporated his feedback and leveled up looking back at her risoto she laughed and said I think when I took a bite I was like oh it’s a lot of butter and a lot of cheese I was like I think myoto was a little mac and cheese mac and rice I don’t know about you but I’d still be down for it moving on to the military challenge it was heartbreaking to see her getting picked last you know I have a disadvantage and there’s limitations so I I it wasn’t a surprise to me at all that definitely bumped her confidence down a peg at that point in the competition her fellow contestants weren’t really able to see past her impairment yet but they get there still though it was appalling that some viewers jumped to the conclusion that Christine was faking her condition or brought onto the show for entertainment purposes says look at this comment for example pause if you want to read it I’m not going to do it the service of repeating what it said on my platform just plain ignorant and disrespectful guess this viewer didn’t know that she was diagnosed with neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder maybe the words were too complicated for them anyway it basically means she can quote unquote see although not clearly but yes she can see objects within 10 to 12 in of her face otherwise she’s says she sees the world as if looking through a steamy mirror after a hot shower that is to say not a whole lot and to reiterate being IL legally blind does not necessarily mean a complete loss of vision anyway back to the episode while Christine being picked last was heartbreaking to see what’s incredible though is how she used everyone’s initial underestimation of her as fuel to bounce back stronger now brace yourselves for my absolute favorite moment moment it was from the very first pressure test where they had to bake a pie she was really stressed out and even thought she was going to get eliminated visually I’m at a disadvantage but I know I need to still put that pie together and make it look aesthetically pleasing now you know how that turned out but the judges especially Joe weren’t too sure about her I don’t know about Christine ready with food in the oven she’s at a major disadvantage her competitors weren’t sure about her either there’s no way I just don’t have any more flour and she was also battling a major drawback the hard thing about baking with my vision LW is I can’t really taste it Midway through like I can with cooking other things here she was wrestling with self-doubt and it broke my heart to watch I feel like I need a miracle but honestly I I think I’m going to be going home and when Ramsay questioned why she seemed so flustered it was crystal clear that Christine wasn’t trying to dance around the issue she’ put that pie into the oven at the very last minute no doubt she was the only one that cut the apples into cubes instead of slices she was thinking of McDonald’s apple pie and how their apples were also Cubes but what set her apart from many others was her Unapologetic honesty there were no flimsy excuses coming from her no pointing fingers at other people or downplaying her shortcomings it was refreshing to see huh what the hell is going on honestly Chef there’s just no excuse I just was flustered that’s called owning up to your mistakes I had almost forgotten what it looked like thanks to all the contestants that have rolled through ramsy shows throughout the years and now listen hard to what she had to say and I’m not saying like it’s good to take all criticism to harp you need to learn wonder if she’s ever watched Hell’s Kitchen she’d be shocked to see the ungodly level of narcissism on that show but you also have to realize that you never the best like you’re always trying to get better anyway she wasn’t sure what her Pie looked like but Ramsay decided to fill in the blanks for her I think it probably looks like a pile of rubbish visually it looks stunning success is so much sweeter when achieved Against All Odds and Ramsay’s words were a Lifeline for her and with his trademark blend of empathy and expertise Ramsay reached out offering both reassurance and hope so stop doubting yourself be yes chef okay you know the way he explained how awesome that pie was to Christine was pretty darn impressive he didn’t just talk about it he made sure to incorporate all of Christine’s senses too he really went above and beyond to make Christine feel how well she had done I mean scraping that Pie’s top to Showcase its crispy glaze cutting through it with that satisfying Crunch and tapping its bottom [Music] can you hear that on the balcony you can hear that right all of that spoke volumes about how amazing that pie was even without needing to see it pie underneath the P looks cooked it was really beautiful now these next lines from Ramsay weren’t just for Christine they healed a part of me too and they are meant to be heard by every everyone who developed a critical view of themselves maybe you were told you were never good enough maybe you were never encouraged as a child maybe nobody ever believed in you whenever you find yourself questioning your self-worth I hope you come back to this video and listen to these words very carefully stop feeling upset with yourself okay humility is a strength Ramsay’s autobiography is named Humble Pie but what good is it if it comes at your own expense right and ramsy ensured Christine realized what her true potential was and it’s intact right in front of your very eyes I have a wedge of a beautiful apple pie see what I mean she was truly the underdog and this test all but proved who the winner would be the flavor’s amazing okay it’s delicious so well done now on to the second Mystery Box challenge the inside of those boxes were pretty much a vegan’s worst nightmare fil brains lamb Hearts balls testicles pigs kidney chicken livs cow’s tongue while Christine felt glad she was spared the Gastly site she eventually made panko fried sweet breads served with Bach Choy really terrific a great accomplishment thank you so much sir congratulations thank you and yeah it was a hit however Ryan turned out to be the winner this time this meant Christine had to compete in the subsequent elimination ch Challenge and Ryan smartly strategized to exploit all her weaknesses he was in charge of choosing who could cook with a live crab and who would cook with canned meat I think she might be a little bit thrown by working with the fresh crab and I think it might be a little bit of a tougher ingredient for her and Ryan spared no expense in trying to eliminate his strongest competitor now this was a cunning move and I’m not the only one who thought so I think I’m the only one in the master chef kitchen that’s hoping for the canned crab Monty stole my words when she said what kind of a gives a live crab to the blind chick but in Christine’s reaction video to that episode she revealed she was actually cool with it and held no grudge against Ryan instead of getting all worked up she actually appreciated it why because it showed that Ryan saw her as a real Contender someone to take seriously in the competition and just like Ryan expected Chris chistine had some trouble with that crab and at one point it got her ouch she even needed medical help in the aftermath it pierced me medic now would you look at that evil grin on Ryan’s face however the judges understandably were a tad worried I mean who wouldn’t be right but guess what when judgment came Christine did what she did best you cook every freaking time like an angel good job thank you serious yep she knocked it right out of the park are you really blind yes chef I am what color eyes have I got I have no idea Chef Ramsey was straight up floored I mean he was in complete disbelief it was a total GameChanger Ryan who probably thought he’d throw Christine off her game ended up making Christine nigh Unstoppable oh yeah Christine’s dish was so phenomenal that his strategy come completely backfired and then in the breakfast challenge we got a taste of her vocal leadership and needless to say the judges were impressed yet again Christin is so vocal is extraordinary she is really kind of rising to the top as we said she’s taking control yep she led her team to Victory I feel awesome like I’ve climbed that entire ladder from bottom to top red team congratulations however in episode 8’s Elimination Challenge where they had to bake Strawberry Shortcake Christine faced a bit of a hiccup Strawberry Shortcake is a classic for reason so I’m struggling to find the strawberries now this person even said that Christine should have been eliminated over this because she made an entirely different dish but hey the internet’s filled with haters and Flat Earth conspiracy theorists so obviously at least a couple of people were going to be upset Christine got out of that situation unscathed and according to this viewer the finale needs a closer look too they point pointed out that Christine’s appetizer was a basic Thai salad downplaying the importance of the protein element her main course consisted of a straightforward pork dish served with rice stir fried veggies and a fried egg they noted that Christine stuck to what she knew resulting in dishes that were passable but hardly Innovative furthermore they raised a question would a win for Josh have made a significant impact on his life they also Express that it seemed unfair for Josh to compete against CH whose Victory might have been more appealing to the general audience they concluded by stating that irrespective of Josh’s efforts if Christine managed to present something edible Josh would have inevitably faced defeat on that day and I mean that’s fair criticism I don’t buy it but it’s fair to think about now this next viewer here also thought that Christine stuck within her comfort zone consistently preparing Thai or Asian inspired dishes without exploring Beyond those boundaries not just in the finale but during the rest of the show too they said this showcased a form of bias on the judge’s part they suggested that the judges might have been hesitant to eliminate Christine due to her visual impairment leading them to favor her to avoid controversy but hear me out in spite of her impairments her performance still outshone others through sheer culinary skill yeah Josh presented a more refined menu but execution is key let’s look back Josh’s lobsters turned inedible and his pie had a really greasy bacon while Christine’s minor errors were overshadowed by her overall execution her appetizer might have lacked crab and the entree seemed a bit messy and the dessert didn’t fully capture the lime flavor but these were comparably minor slip UPS did she play it safe sure would she have lost if Josh executed better probably but that’s not what happened and multiple contestants even considered her a strong Contender for the wind too this indicates a general consensus among peers and competitors independent of any bias from the judges to quote Christine herself our season was especially friendly it was for the most part healthy competition I along with many others weren’t out to screw our fellow competitors in order to win many of us wanted to win simply based on true merits moreover while some may argue about potential bias from the judges the overwhelming support and INSP ation Christine garnered from fans it’s huge and you can definitely count me among them speaking of deserving winners here comes one of the sweetest and kindest contestants the show has ever seen absolutely amazing okay stop me if you’ve heard this one before the most softspoken kind and well the most deserving Master Chef of all time drum roll please Here Comes Whitney Miller Humphrey but you must be wondering after all these years where is she now is she still shining in her culinary career or has she moved on to greener pastures let’s find out now if you know anything you know how Whitney was on the show her most striking personality trait was perhaps her kind and gentle nature but underneath all the calmness lay an ambitious woman who never for a second thought about giving up she would get in that kitchen and she’ll bust her behind and show y’all that she will do a good job at just 22 years old Whitney made quite the splash on the first season of Master Chef where she was one of the youngest contestants for The Season despite her age Whitney wasted no time in establishing herself as a formidable competitor in the show’s journey in fact she set the bar High by winning the very first mystery box of the series and impressively landing in the top three three two more times I mean she made it pretty clear right from the start that she was a force to be reckoned with food definitely consumes my every thought and emotion as far as the food she served goes Whitney was known for her amazing southern comfort food and delicious desserts and right from the start she made a hell of a statement and showed the world what she was made of you want to win and you’re being a smart and you’re using everything you can to your advantage one after the other she created incredible dishes that blew the judges away time and time again I mean it wasn’t just the judges most viewers too were taken in with her skill set and of course charm believe me it was like she was born for this and well she certainly doesn’t disagree I look soft on the outside but I’m like a butterfly and sting like a beat and I’m ready for the competition now the one thing that really stood out about Whitney was how she could come up with some of the most creative dishes on the spot she’d take ingredients that seemed ordinary but all even and turn them into something special that’s a talent you don’t see every day two or three things on there it has to be absolutely on the money one time she had this challenge where she had to make a dessert using only three ingredients now most of us would panic but not Whitney she whipped up this dessert that looked like it came straight out of a fancy high-end restaurant and the judges couldn’t believe it they were so flored that they kept saying they’d pay top dollar for a dessert like that the five IND behind you going into this test today were nervous if they were tasting that right now they’d be even more nervous good job talk about those profit margins huh and let’s not forget her famous Southern dishes she brought the flavors of the South to the master chef kitchen like nobody else not before obviously but not since either her Fried Chicken was so crispy and juicy you can almost taste it through the screen and don’t even get me started on her peach cobbler it was like a warm hug in a bowl but it wasn’t just about The Taste with Whitney she knew how to make her dishes look like works of art every plate she put up for the judges was a masterpiece it was clear she wasn’t just cooking she was making art While others struggled with the intricate details Whitney seemed to so effortlessly navigate through these challenges her precision and finesse in recreating the dessert left everyone in awe solidifying her reputation as the pastry princess a very smart cupcake ah she truly deserved that title as the competition heated up Whitney continued to shine with her signature Southern dishes each one a delicious Masterpiece whether it was a Savory dish that captured the essence of comfort food or one of her famous Sweet Treats Whitney consistently delivered excellence in every bite she served her dedication creativity and skill were evident in every dish he presented making her a standout contestant and ultimately the well-deserved winner of the Season as I’ve looked back on some of her more memorable moments leading up to making this video I can’t help but be inspired by her and how she conquered the kitchen with her incredible talent and unwavering passion for food let me warn you it wasn’t a smooth sailing Journey for her it never is Whitney’s journey to winning the first season of the US Master Chef was not an easy one when she first auditioned for the show Ramsay was initially skeptical about her being a contestant in the first place especially because of her young age it seemed like she might not even get a chance to compete on this show you’re very very young I personally would like to see you back next year for me it’s a no yeah let’s not forget that she was a 22-year-old college student at the time but despite these doubts Whitney fought for her place in the competition she was determined to prove herself despite the odd stacked against her and man I wish I had half as much grit as she does but where did all that Moxy come from well born on June 1st 1988 in popperville Mississippi Whitney came from a small town with Big Dreams however her passion for cooking in the culinary arts led her to take a break from her studies to pursue her Master Chef journey and look at how it paid off there’s no denying that entering the master chef competition was a bold move for Whitney considering everything she’d put on the line to even show up she faced challenges and obstacles along the way but she never gave up through her hard work and dedication she showcased her talent and passion for cooking time and time again Whitney’s victory in the first season of Master Chef wasn’t just a win for her but also a Triumph for small town dreamers everywhere but getting back into it despite her young age Whitney displayed great ambition and proved herself with three mystery box in Elimination Challenge wins now this isn’t a passion that stemmed out of nowhere Whitney’s love for food comes from her close family setting turns out she grew up in a pretty family oriented environment where she often cooked with her mother two sisters and even her great grandmother it’s a pretty common tradition in the South but you can’t deny the effect it had on her inspired by her great-grandmother’s southern hospitality and large family dinners she developed a passion for cooking from a very young age even ramsy was blown away with how she ended every other dessert Challenge on a sweet note I mean she had a pretty unique cooking style she had this flare to throw in a bunch of fresh ingredients and give a subtle modern twist to Southern Classics it’s honestly the work of a prodigy if I’ve ever seen one case in point Whitney even had the most wins out of all the contestants That season a fair and square game in fact in episode 4 Whitney surprised Everyone by serving a southern fried pork chop a dish he’d never even cooked before however despite her lack of experience with pork she was confident in her flavors I’m definitely ready and I’m here to prove to him that I could do this even Graham was impressed he mentioned how he would happily serve it at any of his restaurants and in the end Whitney’s top-notch performance and flavorful dish one over all the judges and here’s how it’s cooked perfectly there are chefs that spend years trying to get a natural feel so are you instinctive or are you just a lucky young girl needless to say she won the challenge with flying colors her confidence in bold Choice paid off and it’s not every day that a contestant can claim that a gamble like this one could pay off for them but that’s exact L what made her journey so exciting to watch well she kept on doing her best day in day out just Whitney being Whitney I’ve never cook for a guy but I’m going to try to do the best I can if it passion this but this reminds me of what happened in episode 8 when there was a pressure test about cooking a romantic dinner with a special ingredient passion fruit Whitney who never cooked for a guy or had any dating experience at all was pretty nervous despite her dish looking good with a nice glaze Graham still wasn’t impressed and I think the passion fruit doesn’t really come through it seems very amateur yeah he wasn’t feeling the dish he decided to give her a reality check to step up her game and oh man it was rough to watch this was one challenge where Whitney’s lack of experience showed but still she pushed through anyway the pressure was on and she had to learn quickly it’s moments like these that really test a contestant’s abilities it was a challenging experience for her but it’s all part of the journey in the competition and yeah you’re a fool if you think that this little stumbling block was going to get her down she survived her stint in the bottom too and what’s more impressive is how she turned things around with consecutive outstanding performances right off the heels of one of her lowest points Whitney your experience or lack of experience has caught up with you yeah she had a neck for bouncing back showcasing her talent and determination all the while her resilience became what she was really known for Beyond her humble dis position it’s certainly the thing I think about first when she crosses my mind but here’s what I admire the most about her Whitney unsurprisingly didn’t have any bad blood with anyone but I mean come on how can you hate someone like her and now putting all that aside we were at the finale before we knew it Whitney and David stood facing each other nerves and excitement filling the air Whitney with determination shining in her eyes dreamt of being crowned America’s first Master Sha however the challenge ahead was daunting yet thrilling the finalist had to create three Exquisite dishes an appetizer an entree and a dessert something that would become quite the staple moving forward but even without those future issues in mind it certainly pressed them to both deliver their absolute best I might be small I might be young but I’m fierce in the kitchen that title is mine but just as the competition commenced Whitney’s approach caught the judge is off guard I mean there was a sense of Simplicity in her dishes that spoke volumes throughout the finale she moved with purpose in the kitchen each ingredient carefully Chosen and each step executed with Precision not surprising why the judges intrigued by her choices had some pretty high hopes for what she would present country fed chicken a top creamy collard greens wow meanwhile David seemed to be in a world of his own while Whitney was focused on her dishes David was Charming the audience with his playful banter he seemed relaxed almost too relaxed for such a crucial moment the contrast between their approaches was star scull SRA but he’s laughing and joking now halfway through the allotted Time Whitney made a bold decision one that nobody saw coming even those who more or less had an idea of what she was going to get up to that night she abandoned her original plan for a chocolate dessert opting instead for something entirely different friend why would Whitney change at the very last minute and start attempting to do a sule judges exchanged looks of uncertainty their doubts evident it was a risky move one that could either Elevate her to Greatness or lead to the most crushing disappointment of her life imagine the irony of the Pasty princess was taken down by her dessert Whitney was feeling butterflies in her stomach for the first time ever but not because of the test or the presentation it was all about her desert after all she was in the fin is a master sha you’ve got it all to lose but paradoxically nothing to lose at the same time steak fried chicken breast you’re talking about one of the poorest proteins cooked in the poorest way to make things even trickier Whitney had chosen some of the cheapest ingredients in the pantry they were simple homely ingredients nothing fancy like David’s but she was determined to show that simple things can be spectacular all you got to do is have the right touch but just as everything was falling into place disaster Master struck oh crap oh right before the competition was about to end Whitney accidentally dropped the chicken on the floor can you imagine with only 7 minutes left on the clock it seemed like all hope was lost oh Whitney but Whitney wasn’t one to give up easily if you’ve been paying attention you should know that so she rolled up her sleeves and got to work in just those scant 7 minutes she managed to completely redo the chick and guess what the end result wasn’t just good it was fantastic the flavors Blended perfectly and the judges were undoubtedly impressed so here’s what she served up at the end of the day sweet shrimp on crispy cornbread country fried chicken and white chocolate bread pudding told you it was going to be simple her overall execution and creativity earned her the title of the first US winner of Master cheaf along with a quar of a million dollars a personalized cookbook and and the Master Chef Trophy and welld deserving it was I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Whitney completely deserved it I America’s first Master St in an interview she gave after the win she revealed how confident proud and yet humble she really was now moving ahead a bit if I went into every little thing that happened to her we’d be here all day so Whitney wrote a cookbook that was released in July 2011 titled modern Hospitality simple recipes with Southern Charm and people loved it what’s more Whitney’s popularity spreads Way Beyond the US turns out she’s also known for her southern cooking in China at the St Regis tianin where Whitney and her recipes were featured but that’s not all she also made recipes and cool videos for companies like Su Supreme and you might have also seen her in magazines like clean eating and Southern Living showing off her cooking skills by the way she’s also helped out the Mississippi Girl Scouts with some delicious recipes and above all she’s Revisited Master Chef on more than a couple of occasions like in season 2 when Whitney appeared as a guest for the elimination test to promote her cookbook here’s your first Advantage here we have three stunning dishes from Whitney’s cookbook that you can choose from but it wasn’t going to be a simple book tour for the contestants The Elimination test was to replicate one of her dishes from her cookbook which included a whole long list of them we presented Jennifer with three stunning dishes from Whitney’s cookbook well I’ll go over what happened on that episode sometime soon but as for Whitney she also started cooking classes and even makes it a point to talk with fans online and if that wasn’t enough she hasn’t been shying away from TV because she’s appeared as a guest host and a judge like in the 2013 World food championships in Las Vegas yeah who knew all the doors her wi was going to open for her to this day her recipes are so good that big magazines and newspapers Love featuring them they write about her In Articles too showing off her awesome southern cooking and after all that in 2015 Whitney got a new gig she joined the coupe in Orlando which is owned by John Rivers who also owns the famous Four River Smokehouse yeah talk about cooking with the greats if Ramsey wasn’t already proof enough I mean Whitney’s Journey from college dorm to Master Chef to cookbook author to Global Food Star is beyond impressive to say the least but she didn’t just excel in her career she has a wonderful personal life too and I should hope so given her personality in 2014 Whitney got married to Ryan Humphrey two years later they were blessed with their son Miller and now she has two sons and a daughter she even made a big thing about the gender reveal for her last child and while I’d usually have some thoughts about that given its Whitney she gets a pass Whitney and her husband Ryan have been together for 9 years Whitney even shared a little video thanking her lucky stars he’s in her life thankfully going into it she had some experience with romantic cooking huh well anyway apart from that Whitney loves sharing her passion for cooking and Southern food with everyone she’s become pretty famous in The Culinary World especially for her modern take on Southern Cuisine Whitney is not just a cook she’s an expert at making tasty dishes that people love whether it’s on TV or through other platforms she’s always showing off her talent for making delicious meals and sharing those talents with the world from her professional success to her family life Whitney’s story is one of talent love and good food and hey did you know that she opened a bakery called Whitney’s cookie and boy oh boy they look delicious I’ve got a pretty mean brown butter chocolate chip cookie recipe I’ve spent years perfecting but even that could never hold a candle to her work I mean Whitney is the talent that brings flavors to life whether it’s through her blog post recipes for big companies or her appearances on all our favorite cooking shows but it doesn’t stop there Whitney’s expertise goes beyond the screen imagine the privilege of cooking for celebrities like chip and Joanna gains from fixer upper or crafting dishes for Tim TBO and Chris Tomlin Whitney’s culinary skills have graced the plates of the famous and regular old Joe’s like us alike and when she’s not cooking up a storm Whitney resides in Franklin Tennessee with her husband Ryan and the rest of her family she has also been honored as one of TJ Maxx’s hero women and served as the national spokesperson for Vidalia onion committee and envy Apple yeah the stuff that you see in every grocery store Whitney is not just a chef she’s a culinary icon from developing restaurant menus to conducting cooking demonstrations and classes Whitney does it all want to add some spice to your event she’s available to judge or MC Awards events and benefits bringing her expertise and Charisma to every occasion and just to make things clear not sponsored just love her so what do you have to say about Whitney’s remarkable Journey on the show and after get in the comments or you could always leave me a message on any of my social media pages and of course if you thought this video was crazy make sure to leave a like subscribe and turn on my post notifications and while you do that don’t forget to check out this next one right here it’s even better

  1. Sorry but Claudia's "win" 100% did not encompass even the judge's "idea of masterchef" she made, mexican food. that's it. Here I was thinking they had to be well-rounded and not just, I can only make food that I grew up with?

  2. OHH YUCK 🤮 I've seen it done before but this clip shows it more clearly & often. My pet peeve is cooks touching their hair or sweating face while they're cooking & not washing their hands before touching the food again. Why aren't the cooks wearing hair nets or required to have their hair tightly refrained. That applies to the men's hair as well as their beards! It's just gross to watch someone flick their hair then pickup food.
