The ultimate recipe for making garlic shrimp. Caribbean cookbook author Chris De La Rosa uses organic grown garlic to make an outstanding but simple garlic shrimp with a Caribbean twist.

NOTE: If you use gluten free butter (do read the labels), this garlic shrimp can be considered gluten free.

For this garlic shrimp recipe you’ll need…

1 lb medium shrimp
pinch salt
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoon chilled butter
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (flat leaf)
1 scallion
1/4 scotch bonnet pepper
2 heaping tablespoon diced garlic
pinch black pepper

friends garlic organic homegrown the good stuff if you guys recall watching the last video I did the cultural Festival here in Hamilton Ontario you would know I spoke all about that garlic luckily the guy I was talking to the gardener the guy who’s doing all the planting he gave me some of that garlic to bring home so today to show my love and appreciation for that organic garlic that I got there I’m doing a wicked dish with garlic as the main ingredient the main flavor but we’ve got some shrimp hey Chris caribbeanpot.com welcome to my kitchen earlier today I was down at CTV Canada a.m Coast to Coast Canada National TV thanks a lot guys for all the support the love everything else today garlic shrimp with just a little kick here we go got a nice heavy White pan on a medium high heat closer to high than anything else and I’m going to go in with some olive oil and I want to get that nice and hot just to the point where it’s just about to smoke it’s nice and hot now I can already smell that lovely olive oil um scent I’m going to go in turn my heat down to medium I’m going to go in with that cleaned and the vain shrimp I’m just going to move it around a little bit just to spread them evenly in the [Music] plant going with some fresh brown black [Music] pepper I’ve got here some chopped scallion you know we love our scallion down in the Caribbean and some flatly parsley move that around a [Music] bit next up I’m going to go in with some salt and I’ve got some finally diced Scotch bonnet pepper if you’re afraid of the raw heat of that lovely Caribbean Sunshine you can go in with some pepper flakes that’s totally up to you and now for the store of the show now you want to get this where the shrimp is about 3/4 of the way cooked because we want to add that garlic in here now but we don’t want to burn that garlic so it’s important that we don’t allow it to cook for too long and please this is a spicy well the ultimate garlic shrimp so you know your boy have to go in there with enough of that organic garlic just going to move that around we really want that sweetness of that garlic and you’ll notice I chopped it finely cuz I want to get that sweetness out of there and not have it all [Music] bitter and you should start getting that lovely Aroma from that garlic the sweetness of it should be coming out a little kick from the cban sunshine and of course that parley and the uh scallion will bring everything together lastly we’re going to go in with some chilled butter and we just want to move that around the pan as soon as that melts through this ultimate garlic shrimp is all so in under what maybe 5 minutes we have this lovely garlic shrimp that butter is going to make like a sort of a creamy sauce on the bottom just going to turn off my stove now pasta rice on sandwiches guys you can’t go wrong with this ultimate garlic shrimp remember to look out for that slight kick from that Scotch Bonet pepper Caribbean Sunshine in the house so there you go guys please give it at try Chris caribbeanpot.com always a pleasure to have you guys here in the kitchen with me special thanks to Sheldon Sheldon Big up yourself Brethren this garlic is amazing check caribbeanpot.com more recipes coming in a few

  2. I almost down thumbed u….glad i waited for the butter to make its intro…..now u got some great tasting shrimp there man. I love shrimp this way, anything thing dripping with butter and garlic. When I want to eat healthy, I grab me some greens and carrots or something. But when I want to eat…..I eat what ever makes my mouth and stomach happy.

  3. Did this was great. Used Rosemary and 4 Tbls tomato sauce at end for gravy. Also coconut oil instead of Olive. Still wicked ✌

  4. Lovely dish…..I personally don't like cooking prawns too long…( someone also forgot to clean them first hehe)…..I tried this recipe to the letter, also did it again but used a small amount of reduced cream with it and re-added the prawns to coat.

  6. Onestly…i think it.s wayyy too long cooked!! 100% are like a gum! They are very litle, you need maximum 2 minutes for them. Maximum!
