Transplanted eight tomatoes in early April to containers. Used a mix of potting soil with some mulch added. Two of the plants have black leaves on the lower branches. Have fertilized once with a 4-6-3 granular fertilizer. I’m in Zone 10b.
Any help as to what might be causing this would be appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like a phosphorus deficiency. Your fertilizer certainly ought to have had plenty of phosphorus in a relative sense, but did you go light with it?
Alternatively, have you had some cold nights? That can cause this sort of discoloration.
