[Music] oh [Music] well hey everybody welcome back to my channel if you’re new here I’m so happy you stopped by well it’s that time for another around the world collaboration where a group of friends and I put um on a recipe and it’s usually for a different country every month but this month we are doing heart healthy recipes now I’m sure you guys may know that heart disease is the number one killer of women in the world so these are all going to be some fabulous healthy ideas for you and I’m going to be making salmon which is full of um Omega-3s and fatty acids and vitamins so it’s really good for you now I know I know maybe I think a couple other people are doing salmon re recipes as well but I am making salmon and papote which is just the French term for paper so we’re going to be steaming our fish and vegetables in parchment paper which is going to seal in all those juices and make it super moist and it’s so easy you can have this just for an everyday meal or if you’re having company over it cuz it kind of does look a little fancy so I’ll show you how to make it and when you’re done please go visit everybody in the description box cuz I know they’re going to have some fabulous recipes so let’s get cooking now depending on how many people you’re having you’re going to need about a 6 oz boneless salmon fillet now sometimes you can find them without the skin but sometimes you can’t so I found some but it had skin on it and if you take a serrated knife and you just kind of start to pull back the skin and then just cut like this and it will peel back really easily and you’ll hardly lose any of the fish it’s super easy to do because we don’t want to leave the skin on there because we’re steaming the fish now if I was frying it I would see super easy all right and then I’m just going to for right now add some pepper on both sides and now um you see this little bone here sometimes they have these pin bones in there so make sure you kind of feel around and cuz nobody wants to bite into a fishbone now I have about a 2T piece of parchment paper all right and then what you’re going to do is fold it in half now we want it pretty big because we have to fold up all the sides now I took a pencil but you don’t have to because I’m not good at cutting out shapes and you’re going to make this into a heart shape it doesn’t have to be perfect and then just cut it and then see how it looks like a heart and then we’re just going to place it like this and now you can season your salmon however you like I’m putting some some Dill a little bit of paprika and then I’m slicing up a lemon into some thin pieces and make sure you take the seeds out next you’re going to get whatever favorite vegetables you like I’m using some strips of red bell pepper some thinly sliced asparagus and some small broccoli fluet but like I said you could use zucchini onion whatever you you like but make sure they’re cut up small or else they’re going to be too crunchy now if you like your vegetables a little bit more cooked you could pre- steam them for a minute or so in the microwave but I like mine sort of alente so just put whatever ones you like on there and then place your salmon on top and we’re going to put about a tablespoon of butter on the top now if you don’t want to use butter you can use olive oil but I think the butter gives it such a nice flavor and then you’re going to put our lemon slices and here we’re going to fold it up into our package you just fold up the sides like this and just make sure you do it really tightly because we don’t want any of the steam to escape from our packet because then it’s not going to cook properly so just fold it over itself around and around and eventually it’s just all going to be tight and just press it down like this and there you go see super easy there’s our little packet now make sure you get those Corners tight because we don’t want any of the steam to come out now I have one packet for me and one for Chris we’re going to bake it at 375 for about 20 minutes and this is how it looks now don’t worry if the paper gets a little bit Brown now the traditional way is to cut a slit in the top and then just place the whole thing on a plate but you can take it out of the paper of course you can but see the salmon is perfectly cooked now depending on the thickness if it’s more of a thin piece you might only need to cook it 15 minutes but mine was pretty thick and it just comes out super moist it’s not dry at all now this pesky lemon slice would not get off of my Fork but the lemon and the dill and everything was so good with it it made like a little sauce on the bottom of the paper so I hope you guys are going to give this a try it’s super delicious it’s elegant enough for a dinner party but great for every day and you can also use different kinds of fish so thank you so much for watching and we will see you guys on the next episode bye everybody [Music]

  9. Karen, this recipe sounds like a winner and no doubt it is. Easy to remember too.
Skipping over to another winner, I wanted to inform you that I just tried the burned butter banana cake bars. Man, is this recipe super-moist, and the frosting tastes exactly what it's called. Delicious. I have to share this with others. I don't want to gain three pounds eating it all myself. 😒 Thanks for the recipe!!❀❀😊

  10. Hi, Karen!
Your salmon turned out great! Thanks for showing us how to take off the skin–you made it look so easy!
I don't cook with dill often, but I know it would be good in this, especially with the lemon. I like my vegetables with a bite as well, so I wouldn't microwave them, either.
As you said, the salmon turned out perfectly! It was so fork tender. Thanks for sharing!

  11. That salmon came out perfect!!! The parchment seals in the juices to make this so moist!!! Great share Karen!!! 😊

  12. I am going to try this! I just bought a bunch of salmon and this looks Delicious. I will have lemons on my tree soon and I'm going to make this. I've never tried it in parchment paper but now I need to. Thank You! This looks so Beautiful & DeliciousπŸ‹πŸ£πŸ₯¦πŸ₯³πŸ₯°πŸ’πŸ’žβ€πŸ‘πŸ»

  13. hey Karen salmon is all the range in this collab I see! I need to try making my salmon like this for sure! I like to do a boat with aluminum in a kind of similar way as you did here when I bake my salmon and the juices in there is just unlike anything else! I gotta get myself to eat more salmon but I love to cook it for my wife when she asks, she prefers it much more than I do lol
