In this video, we tackle the art of preparing and grilling a massive 3.5 kg octopus, Greek style! We begin by boiling the whole octopus in water with a splash of vinegar until it’s perfectly tender. Then, we separate the tentacles, ready them for grilling, and fire up the BBQ. Watch as we grill the tentacles to smoky perfection and serve them up with a traditional Greek touch: a drizzle of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and a sprinkle of oregano. Join us on this epic seafood adventure, where the flavors of the Mediterranean come to life on your plate!

well I am going to my sister-in-law she said oh my cook an octopus it’s going to be fun she said and then she bought this from our fisherman down in the village three and a half kilo and I have no clue what I have to do with this so we spoke to our favorite restaurant the owner and it’s actually pretty simple according to him so we will follow his recipe [Music] fortunately for me the fisherman did a nice job he cleaned out the head and the ink sack and all these things what we do have left though is the beak here that we have to get out of there probably you can squeeze it out but I’m going to take it out with a sharp knife just to get it out of the center here because everything else has been removed fortunately he was nice to me there you go that was easy beak is out and basically that’s it this is actually the only prep work we have to do there is no seasoning there is no nothing it’s back in the bowl and I’ll see you at the stove the steps are simple we have a big pot of simmering water and we’re going to add a splash of vinegar as supposedly that will help soften the octopus then we take our big boy here and just to tighten up the tentacles a little bit we’re going to O they carely straight yeah yeah yeah this is I’m not sure why but I have seen people do this on YouTube so I’m doing the same supposedly that helps with curling up and they become pretty when you are finished and now we’re going to let it cook here under a cover for approximately 15 minutes this is a big boy it might take 20 but we will test it with a fork here we are at the 15-minute Mark so let’s give it a tester here it looks so beautiful yeah it looks really good actually but I want to test now where we are on our tentacles here and they’re nice and penetr we don’t need to go any further so we kill the Heat and then we lift it up here look how beautiful how beautiful it is that looks good yeah let me get it into a bowl here so we can get it over to the cutting board so here we have our boy steaming now it’s time to get it cut into pieces so we take the body here and then we take off all of that part move that to a side and then we flip it’s it’s STS on the board so there you see how they are all like this each tentacle so we cut from the middle and we cut them out like this so they’re ready for the barbecue this is beautiful this is a very big octopus actually do they have at the did you count are the eight actually I didn’t that was three four five 6 seven eight yes it is eight okay so it’s really beautiful this is going to be good eating today wow these are Big they’re huge and then I’m thinking the body here I just throw that we will just I think cut it in half you cut in half yeah no and then I’ll see you at the grill all five burners medium temperature so we’re running there 250 or something in the room so nice and nice and warm going to give it a quick spray of oil like that and simply we put on our nice tentacles here to get a nice sear M the smell is already amazing it smells good and it was so fresh this it was so fresh this one the smell of when we were boiling it you could smell the sea I mean it was really amazing y but you see you need a lot of space here you need a big grill for a 3 four kilos of baby here so basically now we let that get some nice sear marks on this side 7 8 minutes on the grill I think it’s about time we give them a flip let’s have a look here ah they start getting some nice Browning here let’s see the other ones but it is time because you if you over cook them I think they get a bit chewy like you don’t want that you don’t want that that’s for sure but they don’t Grill up like this is the first time so Uncharted water as we said they don’t Grill up the grill marks the same way as pork or beef or whatever but they feel good though so let them cook here for a couple more minutes and then I think we’re there I want to test them a little bit with a fork just to see yeah yeah yeah they’re getting nice now m M soft they have to be proper for our teeth yeah of course they have to be friendly to our teeth I’m calling it now because they still have some punch which they have to have that like halumi cheese a little bit chewi but not too much there we have our beautiful thumbnail picture on the side and it smells Divine it smells like fresh from the sea you know this is really good so let me get one of the ooh that’s tend an hour that’s nice it’s like that was a point perfect now we want to dress this up like you would in a Greek tavana like we have it so many times drizzle of olive oil ah so nice a bit of pepper and some really good mountain oregano that’s necessary so delicious and last but not least we need the most important is a good squeeze of lemon I mean olive oil and lemon it just goes so well together with this so now I’m the lucky one here always always the lucky one let’s see do we live up to the name of Abra restaurant M that’s good it’s a little bit crispy on the there because it was the first which is the best part those little crispy bits but the inside now it’s so soft this part here I’m going in for a second bite just for to get one of the really white ones here they are so good and you notice guys we didn’t put any salt you don’t need to it’s so salt in the octopus coming from the sea you don’t need to add salt this is absolutely fantastic it was daunting to start this project out with that big animal but really turned out delicious I can can highly recommend try this out at home it’s actually much easier than you would believe

Looks like it worked out really well🔥👍
How much does it cost when you buy from local fisherman?
quit killing this highly intelligent creature. There are plenty of other fish you can cook
