New to grilling, inherited this at my new spot. Salvageable or is it over?
Starter clicks and gas goes through, but i have to manually flame it on. Brand is kenmore.

Parts, should you need them, are readily available. Give it a good cleaning, inspect the burners etc and see where you’re at.

RE: igniter, take off the grill and flavorizers (the tents covering the burners) and check the burners and see where the spark is landing. Sometimes the gas holes near where the spark goes off are clogged so there’s no gas to be ignited there.

100% salvageable. Clean the hell out of it and maybe the starter will work too. It could be a battery start as well, if the button unscrews.

New grates, new guards, new burners, a lot of scouring pads and elbow grease on the inside and outside, and you have yourself basically a new grill for $100. Nothing wrong with that.
(edit, I say $100 without looking up your parts, may be a lot lower, won’t be much higher if at all)

You definitely need new flavorizer bars. Those are like $20 on Amazon.
You might need new grates. Try and scrub and heat up and oil.

Give it a rebuild and—Good cooking!

Yeah absolutely salvageable. Pull everything out, clean them reassemble and fire it up. Let it get super hot and let it bake for 15-20 minutes. Should be good.

Wire brush on a corded drill, oil and high heat burn

You could try soaking those grates in vinegar for a few hours and then scraping them with a wire brush, should get rid of most of the rust.

Clean the grates and buy a couple of Qwik Char trays .

Get a stick lighter, a wire brush and crank the gas let it rip for a bit.
