I don't understand how it's as spicy as it is. The only ingredients I see on the label1 are:

In order:

  • Habenero Peppers
  • Chipotle Puree
  • Water
  • Orange Juice Concentrate
  • Natrual Pepper Flavoring <– is this hiding the craziness?
  • Tomato Paste
  • Potassium Sorbate
  • Sodium Benzoate

I have so many other hot sauces that list "Ghost Pepper", "Scorpion Pepper", etc., and they're nowhere near as hot as this stuff.

Sorry to give Da'Bomb more "airtime", as I know it's seen as having poor flavoring (I have no idea, I just taste the heat, I taste no flavor from it), but I'm just trying to understand it better as an educational matter.

1 For an FDA-approved label, Ingredients should be listed based on their weight, starting with the heaviest, per https://foodlabelmaker.com/ingredient-list-maker/

Yup, the Natural Pepper Flavoring is hiding the craziness. Pepper extract can be listed as “natural pepper flavoring” or natural flavoring, or spices, or just about anything else within reason. Somewhere else on the label, DaBomb says it uses extract.

Yes that’s pepper extract. You only need a tiny bit.

That damn sauce is so evil.

We did a wing challenge 6 or so years ago and It fucked me up so bad I gave up meat for a few years (I’ve since recovered)
