Hey all, just bought my first pellet grill and first thing I’m trying is a pork butt for pulled pork. I’ve had the grill at 220 for about 6 hours and the smoke tube just went out. Pork (6 pound bone in) is at 146 and still climbing. When do I wrap it? What else should I know? Thanks!

I cook mine at 250degrees pit temp. I usually wrap around 165 or when I’m happy with the color. I start checking for tenderness around 203 internal though I usually don’t pull them off until 205-208 or so. All climate based too. What works for me may not work for you but this way works without fail for myself. Good luck and may the BBQ gods shine upon your cook my friend
I don’t wrap, and the smoke tube isn’t doing much for you after the first couple hours. Keep the lid closed and let it do its thing.
Pork butt is simple, pretty foolproof and that’s why it’s a great way to learn.
Looks good pal! What smoker did you go with?
