And I still think it's not really medium rare. Used a gas grill. Suggestions?

I’d call that a perfect medium. No gray band and nothing overdone at all. Looks great to me.

Looks perfect to me. I think it’s more on the rare side personally.
If you’re not happy either cook it longer it shorter.

It takes me cooking a specific dish about 3 times with the same equipment before I understand what I’m doing. And those cooks need to be close together.

If you’re aiming for medium rare, increase the heat and decrease the time on the grill.

Personally I like ribeyes north of mid rare. It makes the fat more rendered and easier to eat. I struggle with hard fat.
