Pyramids weren't built at the same time as the sphinx. The sphinx already existed and was already buried by the 3rd dynasty, and the crowning of Djoser. The sphinx was also carved out of limestone, not bedrock. There is no bedrock around it. It's limestone and sand. And it wasn't carved in a pit. The limestone was fully exposed when it was carved and over thousands of years of desertification, it was covered by sand. Its also believed that the sphinx once had the head of a lion, but khufu ordered the head to be recarved in his image. Which is why its so much smaller than the body. Studies suggest the sphinx was built roughly 7000 bc, when the Nile still experienced heavy rainfall.
I hear everything about ancient science and wisdom, how advanced these cultures were compared to ours and they have written records of flying machines and space men, why didn’t they have photography, laser pictures engraved in the stones. I only see rough carvings in stone. How advanced were they really?
